...to drink a whole bottle of wine?

Tired after a long (but very enjoyable) week as an early years teacher.

Just discovered some whit wine that I really like - I always thought that I didn't like wine.

I seem to be finishing a whole bottle on my own! My DP has been drinking cider so hasn't had any of the bottle of wine.

Is a whole bottle far too much??

No! Same here :)

When I say 'whit wine', I mean 'white wine'!!!

(although you probably already guessed that)

1/2 a bottle here ...now rum!

Wolfiefan · 23/04/2016 23:15

Check units. I would say a bottle is too much in one sitting.

Foodefafa · 23/04/2016 23:16

YANBU.

I wonder how many posts before you're diagnosed a functioning alcoholic........

Champagneformyrealfriends · 23/04/2016 23:16

YANBU-before I had DD I would have done! Now I struggle to finish a glass but that's after nearly a year of abstaining.

LazyMilk · 23/04/2016 23:17

Nope, YADNBU! Enjoy :)

VimFuego101 · 23/04/2016 23:18

Well, it depends whether you're doing it every single day Wine

bloodyteenagers · 23/04/2016 23:18

I do. It's hard not to. I have huge glasses. So in my house it's only two glasses Grin

SpringHasNearlySprung · 23/04/2016 23:19

I'd be staggering upstairs after 2 glasses ha ha. Enjoy your wine OP.

chickenowner · 23/04/2016 23:19

thanks everyone!

wolfiefan I just checked and the wine is actually a lower alcohol content than usual and is only 5%! I hadn't realised that when I first posted. I guess that full strength wine would be a lot more units...

When I start making too many typos, let me know ;-)

one glass into a second bottle here.

Started at 6pm though.

HopeClearwater · 23/04/2016 23:21

A whole bottle?!
Don't fancy your head in the morning.

Foodefafa · 23/04/2016 23:21

5% wine??!!

thenightsky · 23/04/2016 23:22

5% ???

I consider cava at 11% a low alcohol option (wine seems to be mostly 14% these days)

chickenowner · 23/04/2016 23:22

Foodafafa hahahaa!!

VimFuego101 I don't drink at all on school nights - it's not fair on either myself or the 4-5 year olds in my class for me to not be on top form!

OP posts:
RedSoloCup · 23/04/2016 23:22

5%!!!

go for it!!

TyneTeas · 23/04/2016 23:23

Well if you are concerned, I would gladly have a glass or two to help you out... Wink

chickenowner · 23/04/2016 23:26

TyneTeas thank you, it's lovely to know that there are so many friendly and helpful people out there in MN land!

dementedpixie · 23/04/2016 23:28

I drink a bottle on a Friday night with no ill effects

VimFuego101 · 23/04/2016 23:28

5%? I'm no doctor but I think you'll be fine. Most wines are 17.5% aren't they?

dementedpixie · 23/04/2016 23:29

No the ones I drink seem to be around 11-13%

frazzled74 · 23/04/2016 23:30

I'm 1/2 way through a bottle of lovely 11% white wine, I intend to finish it, it's Saturday night, I've had a hard week at work and my diet starts tomorrow. Yanbu
