AIBU - sounds like I'm being nosey but WTAF is going on.

Live in a street, detached house but houses close together, new estate.

Last night, around 12 uniformed Police & 2 plain clothes arrive NEXT door. Outside for about 30mins no police cars/vans just a lot of radioing/phone usage.

Half the police then go round the back of said neighbours house into their garden.

Nothing, no drama in the street, no one taken out the house etc. Hour later all police disappear.

I'm just hanging around in my house now & 3 marked police vans arrive again, all get out, try and gain entry again to next door.

A. I'm a bit of a "hate this sort of thing going on outside my house etc as the police vans parked outside MY house (great!!!)

B. Jesus what is going on to warrant so many police?

C. Fuck sake!

D. Where the hell ARE my neighbours?

E. This will out me (hopefully not) but ZZ lister lives there

F. I actually hope they are ok!?

So my question is AIBU to want to know what the hell is going on????

South of the Watford Gap.

But why send 14 Officers undercover for a stalker threat?!?

Tracy from Eastenders?

stonechallenge · 22/04/2016 14:22

Yes traumatic experience from their constant arguing that I can hear through my detached walls ....... I digress.

What DO the police want?

Actually I do need to know. I live next door & have a responsibility to my child to not be exposed to such drama. He's a PFB and I will wrap him up in cotton wool forever because things like this don't happen in my world.

Putting the recycling out now.

Then maybe put on another wash load.

Then the car washing will commence.

Then ...... As Arnie said "I'll be back"

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 22/04/2016 14:37

Is it John Leslie?

TakeItFromMe · 22/04/2016 14:38

The police are people too - perhaps they all wanted an oggle at the Zz lister's pad, and it's just something really minor but the others came along for a nose.

stonechallenge · 22/04/2016 14:38

Ha ha really? Grin

Is it the one who wears a hat and is always looking after other people's stalls?

DropYourSword · 22/04/2016 14:43

It took me far longer that it should have to work out what zz lister meant!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 22/04/2016 14:45

Here are some clues to help you..
Battering ram/ sniffer dogs = drugs raid
Yellow police tape cordoned area around house= body found
Police surrounding house, possibly with a megaphone= hostage situation
Police casually entering the house= police themed fancy dress party

I just snorted tea from my nose! Grin

not place marking at all

Ladycrazycat · 22/04/2016 14:53

Maybe fraud or something else that may require a lot of searching. Could be anything really.

Worth noting police don't need a warrant if they arrest someone at home. So they may be hoping to arrest said celerity in their property so they can search, if they haven't had time to apply for a warrant.
