I REALLY want to know what is going on!

AIBU - sounds like I'm being nosey but WTAF is going on.

Live in a street, detached house but houses close together, new estate.

Last night, around 12 uniformed Police & 2 plain clothes arrive NEXT door. Outside for about 30mins no police cars/vans just a lot of radioing/phone usage.

Half the police then go round the back of said neighbours house into their garden.

Nothing, no drama in the street, no one taken out the house etc. Hour later all police disappear.

I'm just hanging around in my house now & 3 marked police vans arrive again, all get out, try and gain entry again to next door.

A. I'm a bit of a "hate this sort of thing going on outside my house etc as the police vans parked outside MY house (great!!!)

B. Jesus what is going on to warrant so many police?

C. Fuck sake!

D. Where the hell ARE my neighbours?

E. This will out me (hopefully not) but ZZ lister lives there

F. I actually hope they are ok!?

So my question is AIBU to want to know what the hell is going on????

If it's a Z list sleb then I assume some sort of stalker/potential break in. I'm just place marking though. Twitching my virtual net curtains for you.

as an ex-copper's ex wife (so little to no authority on this) - that many officers - probably drugs raid. they would have gone in though unless they don't have a warrant (very unlikely), could also be a concern for welfare if they keep going back, but again very odd that they don't just blast the door in like they used to on the bill.
or having read OP again - it could be a stalker! not the OP of course, but if they keep going to check the back of the house then they could be waiting to find someone other than OP and half of MN hiding in the bushes.

or has neighbour just locked themselves out and is hoping the police will help them get back in. As they are a ZZ lister they don't want to be stood on the street so have de-camped to another location

Oh ask the police if there is something going on that you need to be aware of.

Going on the amount of Police shows I watch , I reckon , neighbour is in custody for something already and the Police are now doing a search of the house to find a)drugs, b)Offensive images c)money d) a body.( Just in case anyone is offended I am being lighthearted).

Op has disappeared.....arrested for hampering police investigation by continuous bin emptying/garden fence painting and front doorstep sweeping??

That many police does sound like they were expecting to have to search the house once they got there, but something that's not urgent enough to break the door down, so probably not drugs.

Years ago we lived across the road from a business man who was as dodgy as fuck - one evening police turned up in numbers like that and removed lots of files, computers and piles of paper. Turned out he was suspected of some sort of fraud, but evenutally was found not guilty and they threw a massive trashy party with big "not guilty!" signs all over the house.

I would guess drug raid, but would have thought that if that was the case they would have a warrant and would have forced entry.

OP could you call 101/your local police station/tweet a neighbourhood PCSO and ask what the crack is?

I don't know if they would tell you though (you might need to be VERY concerned!)
