Get rid. I see no reason why a particular person should be head of state for decades, their family supported by said state, their wealth secured by said state, just because of which family they happen to be born into. It makes absolutely no sense.

That said, I think the current monarch does a decent enough job, but that's pure luck. And look at what's coming after her.

I'm sure an elected head of state would have their failings and detractors like all politicians. But I'm equally sure that it is preferable to have someone put in place by democratic process rather than some shonky idea of 'divine right' or whatever the bunch of German inbreds believe justifies their lifestyles.

'I believe France is the most popular tourist destination in the world. And we all know what they did to their King! While I'm not advocating the guillotine here, I do think that puts paid to the "but they bring in the tourists" argument

Bin the lot of them. Can't understand how the monarchy still exists in this day and age. And that people are expected to LIKE them too. Sounds like the plot of an OTT dystopian novel. Confused
