I've had a couple of hayfever sneezes and my eyes are itchy. So here we go again!

My hayfever has started today as well. My eyes have been itchy and burning all day even with an antihistamine.

Dd's kicked off a few weeks ago and we have just had to up her medication dose. Deep joy

Started today for me with a vengeance. Dry eyes and sneezing.

Same here. I took a piriton. DD was unimpressed by my wish for a nap after.

Non-drowsy preps henceforth.

Try 6 weeks ago. And I can't take my usual stuff because I'm upduffed

Mine started today, I have a blocked yet runny nose and keep sneezing. Not sure what I can take as I'm pregnant.

Sew mine too - though at least I'm not pregnant (thank goodness, for all sorts of other reasons too ): we need a [hanky] emoticon!

Tip obviously talk to your GP, but I am taking cetirizine - when I was pg with DS my GP said I should be safe to take it as no recorded problems (except in very high doses in cattle but we'll gloss over those types of comparisons )

Mine started a month ago bit today was a very bad day, pollen higher than they said I think...plus pollution.

Can the upduffed use Prevalin? I've not tried it but heard good things.

I envy all you people who have only started feeling it today...I've been feeling it for nearly a month but it's gone to another level in the last week or so.

Does anyone know if they have different strengths of antihistamine available on prescription? I get tablets prescribed but to be honest the barely seem to make a dent on the symptoms.

DH is a tree pollen man, so his started weeks ago. Today DS joined in.

I'm not sure, I was driving with the windows down earlier and my eyes felt prickly it was weird, like they were about to feel itchy but didn't , I was filled with dread when I realised it could be the start of hay fever .

Mine started about a month ago. But thankfully it will only last a little while longer. Cherry blossom is the only thing that affects me, so I'm usually ok by June

Yes! I have been horrific with it this week. I started my own thread earlier in desperation, someone suggested cetrizine antihistamines, I've just ordered a load.

I am on year round motelukast since the list of things to which I appear to be allergic got completely out of control. It does mean that I don't get the normal sniffles and sore throat.

Yesterday I discovered that it doesn't suppress everything though. Swollen eye (looks for all the world as though someone has socked me in the eye) - so now I have eyedrops and cetrizine as well. And a very swollen eye

Montelukast (singulair) - works better if you spell it right. Not sure I would whole-heartedly recommend it unless you are desperate though.

Few weeks ago with the sniffly thing for me too. Started proper sneezing/sore eyes yesterday though.
