Because my pfb is 18 today. In 1 hour and 14 minutes to be precise.

I was 21 when she was born and dh and I are still together (despite the naysayers and doom mongerers), she has 2 wonderful sisters and is an all round amazing person who I am so proud and happy to know.

Feel very thankful and joyful just now. AIBU?

(If anybody dares say iabu I will send my grown up daughter round to sort you out)GrinWink

Congratulations. Enjoy your relationship 1:1 with your adult. x

fatmomma99 · 19/04/2016 00:25

remind them about the nappies often!

meridithssister · 19/04/2016 00:39

Congratulations on growing an adult Smile You are not unreasonable, I burst with pride about my own adult child. He is my greatest achievement and I don't care if that makes me a tiny bit smug (or a lot smug) Grin

sandgrown · 19/04/2016 00:46

My DD is 35 today ( born 2 15 am) and a mother herself but I remember her birth as if it was yesterday. She is the best daughter I could wish for and much loved by her brothers Smile

MangoMoon · 19/04/2016 00:58

YANBU!!

Congratulations!
ThanksWine

SilverBirchWithout · 19/04/2016 01:00

Well done Northern

My adult DS is 24! It is an amazing feeling when they reach adulthood.

I just wish I could have known, what I know now, when he was younger. All those worries and fears you have at different life stages, wondering whether you were doing the right thing. It all turned out fine in the end, phew.

Trying your best to do right by them, and unconditional love is all that is really needed. hope that doesn't sound smug

ParanoidGynodroid · 19/04/2016 01:01

You did it! Well done!

Every mistake from here on in is solely her own!

Ilovetorrentialrain · 19/04/2016 01:05

That's lovely. And happy birthday to your daughter! Flowers

Quook · 19/04/2016 01:07

YANBU - I hope you all have a lovely day. What have you got planned?

All my DC are adults now, although they don't always act it. Wink.

YANBU. Happy Birthday to your DD! CakeFlowers

Northernlurker · 19/04/2016 08:03

Thank you all Smile

The adult is going out for breakfast with her friends before school and then has requested lasagne and crumble for tea. I have put the obligatory baby pictures on facebook. I don't feel any older but I certainly look older Hmm

Congratulations Northern - you survived!

Ds2 is 13 today - he's my youngest and my oldest is 18. Iam now the proud handler of two teenage boys! Shock

Shosha1 · 19/04/2016 08:09

My DS is 38 today, at 22.58 to be precise.

I really really can't equate that with my beautiful baby.

Where did the years go !

By the way he is a father of a 20 year old and a Grandfather of a 9 month old,

That still seems even more impossible :)

LittleCandle · 19/04/2016 08:13

DD2 turned 21 yesterday. DD1 is 25 and has a 6 month old. Sometimes it still feels as though i am refereeing between them and they (fortunately) still phone for advice or just to chat. Grin
Congratulations to your DD and a very happy birthday.

TooGood2BeFalse · 19/04/2016 08:16

Congratulations! And Happy Birthday to your daughter!

magimedi · 19/04/2016 08:33

My DS is mid 30's, with a lovely wife & gorgeous baby.

I can't tell you the pleasure our adult relationship gives me - I just wish they lived in this country. But they are not too 'forrin' & am off to see them all in a few days time. Most excited.

Happy Birthday to NL's DD & all the other birthday DCs today.

seagreengirl · 19/04/2016 08:33

My DD was 18 last week too!!

We didn't have a digital camera when she was born so I had to dig all the old photos out of the loft. She hadn't seen most of them...me and her in hospital when she was born etc. It was wonderful to look at them. Happy birthday to your DD.

monkeymamma · 19/04/2016 08:35

What a blooming lovely thread! Well done all you mums of adults. Mine are toddlers still so the hard yards are still ahead of me!

HookedOnHooking · 19/04/2016 08:37

Happybirthday to MiniNorthern. Hope you have a lovely day

MrsJayy · 19/04/2016 08:38

Happy Birthday to your Adult.Cake

MrsJayy · 19/04/2016 08:39

My youngest is 18 feels great

SquinkiesRule · 19/04/2016 08:48

My oldest two are 27 and 22. I have no idea how they got so old. I still think of them as teenagers in high school. No way can one be old enough to be at work every day and own his own house. I'm not that old in my head

hellsbells99 · 19/04/2016 08:49

Happy Birthday to Northern's DD Cake
My DD (my youngest) is also 18 today!
