To not want to leave the house? (Lighthearted)

Unfortunately our neighbour was burgled on Wednesday night.

The police have been to and fro and currently there are officers sat in a police van blocking our driveway (there's no car on it as DH is at work)

I want to walk up to the local shop for wine and I'm out of cigarettes

But I'm scared of the police seeing me! I feel guilty even though I haven't done anything! AIBU or does anyone else feel the same when they walk past the police?

You know you are being unreasonable, but I get that feeling too. Security guards in shops make me feel guilty aswell, and if the alarm goes off as I walk out of the shop I go the colour of a tomato, when I know I haven't done anything. Stupid of me, but I can't help it.

Now go and do your shopping!! Smile

Police officers don't bother me, but I always feel self-conscious around security guards. I often find myself smiling at them as I walk out of the shop in an attempt to look innocent, but then panic that I just made myself look strange, and by association guilty!

It's an anxiety thing, but as long as you're not the burgler, you'll be fine. Wink
