Moving into DH's FMH

I’ve name changed for this. DH got FMH in his divorce settlement and then let it out for a few years. We now own the property jointly, and there are no DC. Because of family, work and finances it could solve some of our present problems to live in it ourselves.

Our rental where we’re living now comes up for renewal soon when we will have to decide on whether to stay for another year. But here's my problem - ExW now lives back in the same town only a few streets away, and I have no idea what it's like to be in this situation. DH does not have any worries about it but is leaving the final decision to me.

AIBU to hesitate before making a decision?

It depends what the ex is like and how the marriage ended
In any event can you afford not to make the move and see how it goes?

Skittlesss · 11/04/2016 13:37

I think you should just move in. As long as you like the house and it will solve your problems then go for it. Ignore his ex x

BaronessBomburst · 11/04/2016 13:38

Are you likely to run in to her? Ever?
You can go months without seeing someone who lives in the same street.

Ex is unpredictable and marriage ended against her wishes. Finances very tight ATM.

FredaMayor · 11/04/2016 13:45

No, we only met 2 years ago. DH left FMH 8 years ago.

Do what is right for you... me? I'd move into the house, if I liked it, schools etc

Pinkheart5915 · 11/04/2016 14:07

I think you should just move in, especially at things are tight for you both atm.
They have been apart for years, Surely she's moved on with her life by now. I am sure other exes manage to live in the same town.

I think because so much time has passed you can move into it with no problems.

Go for it!
