Is going round FB at the moment. Most people think it's sweet (so do I) but a couple think it's too much between a father and daughter as she is an older child.

They think it's too sexual

AIBU to think that actually there is nothing wrong with this video and that it's lovely to see this between a father and daughter

She's a little girl who won't grow up thinking it's ok for the men in her life to treat her with indifference. That can only be a good thing.

I think it is bloody lovely. My nephew is 14 and still curls up on my knee for a cuddle sometimes (hes taller than me!) they are still kids!

You can very clearly see that the Dad is being very careful with her. Remembering that she is his child.

I don't think she is any older than 8/9 anyway.

I curled up on my dads knee til I was 23 and still would if he was alive. Funnily enough it wasn't sexual! Video isn't working on my phone so just going on what pp said about content though!

That just about sums up the 'advances' that society has made since I was a kid.

Back then shit happened, but we felt safe/secure showing affection, being hugged and loved. Nowadays we can't be overtly affectionate, can't hug, without someone assuming the worst.... and shit still happens.

I agree with Mavis. She is learning that she is loved. All this bull crap of 'it's too sexual' is getting out of hand. What's next - dads refusing to bath a newborn baby girl as she has to be cleaned properly? And 'oh look at him bathing her it's too sexual'
This is why (myself included) won't get pictures their baby in the bath sent off to get printed just incase someone looks at it and 'it's too sexual'

Apologies for the rant it just all pisses me off that a dad (or any parent) can't show genuine love for their children (at every age)

Oh I think it's lovely. I'm nearly 40 and still sit on my Dad's knee (although too big to dance on his feet now!).

This is beautiful. My DD is 8 and my DS is 10 and my DH and I both still cuddle and dance with both of them. I'd rather my DC knew that they we're loved than live in a house with no affection because someone might think it was inappropriate

I've always thought it odd that the UK (and other places), is so closed to non sexual touching.

In other, more sexually repressed and forbidden cultures, men will walk around holding hands, fathers are more opening physically affectionate and Woman massaging, painting etc each other, are just part of life.

I dont know whether it's because less developed cultures, are physically closer, shared bedrooms, extended breastfeeding etc, coupled with no presumed sexual intent, that they feel they can be more hands on.

I'm seeing more and more posts, on Social Media, even condemning bed sharing etc and it's very sad.

Just seen that for the first time and I think it's lovely.

That little girl looks to me as if she is happy and secure in the knowledge that her daddy loves her.

People have some very strange opinions and they are the ones with a problem.

I do this with my 8 and a half yr old ds. He's getting too heavy now though He also jumped into the bath with me and his 7 week old little brother on Saturday. I told him he would be too big to do that soon and he replied I don't think so, I'll still be getting in when I'm 19! Haha. Nothing sexual about the video at all. Its quite cute.

I don't think its weird at all. I've 3 dds - the child in the video looks like my 8.5 year old. We still lift her up like that, carrying on, dancing, sometimes she likes to be lifted up to bed at night. Her, her older sister (almost 11) and her younger sister all sit on knees, lean into us, all try & squeeze on the sofa if we're watching something on tv. Funny enough my husband took our eldest to the cinema last week and he mentioned that she still wanted to hold his hand when they were watching the film.

I think its absolutely beautiful. She is still his baby no matter how big she gets. If i could lift my 10 year old if he would let me and dance with him i would. My 6 year old still comes up for a cuddle and a dance. Its really nice. I remember still sitting on my dad's knee until about 9/10.

My DS1 13 will dance with me, as will his younger brothers. People want to see bad in everything these days.

Christ this is a little girl dancing with her dad in her own kitchen. Why on earth should the whole internet be discussing whether it's 'too sexual'?

I think if anyone finds it sexual then that says a lot about them. I think it's lovely. He's just a normal dad ffs treating his daughter as he should. It makes me so sad that people are trying to make everything sexually inappropriate.

This is exactly how dh is with dd who's 11, it's lovely
