Last night myself and DP were at an engagement party. The couple are good friends and we all had a great night. The party was at their home. I'm just wondering as a bit concerned our card/ gift may have got lost in the course of the evening. When we arrived DP gave the card containing a £150 voucher to the host. He thanked us (obviously didn't open card or present) and then the card was put to one side but I didn't really see.
The couple have been in touch today chatting and I would have expected they may have spent the day opening their gifts. However there has been no reference to our card/ gift. I know it's only the day after so am I jumping the gun here? Or if you were at home the day after a party would you open your cards that day or leave it until later?
The fact today is a Sunday and they'll both be working tomorrow made me think they'd open them today. They're not rude people so I'm sure if they'd received it they would have thanked us.
