Minor but aibu?

At cinema the other day. There's this huge cut out style poster for the BFG. The little girl in the film is a cut out too with her skirts rising up behind her.

Ds2 aged 6 thought it funny to put his hand 'up' her skirt. H thought this hilarious and took photos.

I thought it seriously unfunny and said so and well, what a pc bore I am. Small spat ensued. Nice.

I would have thought you were a bit grumpy. It's only a cardboard cutout most people would know you wouldn't do the same to a real girl

winkywinkola · 06/04/2016 09:48

Woulda six year old know? How?

OP posts:
BeverlyGoldberg · 06/04/2016 09:49

I'm a bore like you then as I wouldn't have found this funny either.

ShyCharles · 06/04/2016 09:49

I wouldn't have found it funny either.

Ughnotagain · 06/04/2016 09:51

YANBU. If you are a grump then so am I. That shit falls under the same umbrella as hair pulling, pushing in the playground, "he's mean because he likes you". It's bullshit.

Misswrite89 · 06/04/2016 09:52

I wouldn't have found it funny at all.

Bajanella · 06/04/2016 09:53

I wouldn't be bothered about a 6 year old being silly. I would be very pissed off if H encouraged it by taking photos. I'd have had a spat with H too.

leelu66 · 06/04/2016 09:55

YANBU. Your DH should not have encouraged it.

sonlypuppyfat · 06/04/2016 09:57

It must be just me then, I can't get worked up by offending a bit of cardboard

wonkylampshade · 06/04/2016 09:58

It's not just a bit of fun though, is it? He's learning about how boys treat girls and men treat women. His dad shouldn't have encouraged this.

winkywinkola · 06/04/2016 10:01

I said it was a dick thing to do.

OP posts:
AStreetcarNamedBob · 06/04/2016 10:02

Not funny. YANBU

InternalMonologue · 06/04/2016 10:02

I'd be more bothered about the husband encouraging it rather than the 6 year old being daft.

Floggingmolly · 06/04/2016 10:04

Taking photos is bloody weird.

Buzzardbird · 06/04/2016 10:06

It wasn't funny.

cuntycowfacemonkey · 06/04/2016 10:06

I would be pissed off too it's like someone said it's teaching him how men treat women. Taking photos is just knobbish

liquidrevolution · 06/04/2016 10:07

not funny. At 6 a child will translate this as being acceptable.

Your DH is a dick.

DramaAlpaca · 06/04/2016 10:08

I agree OP, it's not funny.

A six year old is just messing about and I wouldn't think too much of it. I would've told him not to do it & explained to him that it was inappropriate.

However, I'd have been very pissed off if my DH had encouraged it and would've told him so in no uncertain terms.

80schild · 06/04/2016 10:09

It would encourage disrespectful attitude so definitely not funny.

shovetheholly · 06/04/2016 10:09

YANBU! I know he's 6 and has no clue what he's doing, but that kind of encouragement and boys-will-be-boys attitude is not something to encourage

Yanbu I can't believe your Dh found it funny to do that. If I saw a dad and son doing that I would have been disgusted at both and given them a dirty look.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 06/04/2016 10:16

YANBU. Not at all funny.

wasonthelist · 06/04/2016 10:17

I thought this was going to be about Michael Mcintyre (or Harry Hill)

HellonHeels · 06/04/2016 10:24

That's really not nice. Your DH should be guiding DS on values and behaviour - and that behaviour is inappropriate.
