John Lewis Café Rage

GoneClubbing · 29/03/2016 17:00

Went to John Lewis café today, this is Southampton, in case you know it, the one on the top floor with lovely panoramic windows. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window. So DS and I are there enjoying our drinks, minding our own business, when a middle-aged woman comes by with a tray of dirty stuff and dumps it on our table! I gave her a 'wtf?' look and she kind of gesticulated towards the table nearby, where her DH had sat down. So in order to have a clear table themselves, they dumped someone else's dirty stuff on ours! When we'd finished I was going to do the same to them but DS wouldn't let me. WTAF? AIBU for this to give me the rage Angry

I'm afraid that I would have put it straight back on her table. DS needs to learn that people cannot treat you like that and get away with it.

queenofsardines · 29/03/2016 17:03

I think YABU not to tell her off, bloody cheek!

Blueberry234 · 29/03/2016 17:04

I would have moved it back to her table

Andrewofgg · 29/03/2016 17:06

I would certainly have put it back on her table. Holy shit . . .

FarrowandBallAche · 29/03/2016 17:07

I would have told her to move it off my table for sure.

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 29/03/2016 17:07

Id of shoved it back on hers with a fucking deathstare

ChasingPavements · 29/03/2016 17:07

YANBU to be furious about this, but YABU not to have done anything at the time. She would've got the lot back, dumped on her table. Incredibly rude.

Andrewofgg · 29/03/2016 17:08

The words Yours, I think? come to my mind.

hownottofuckup · 29/03/2016 17:08
Shock
KP86 · 29/03/2016 17:09

Seriously? How rude!

katienana · 29/03/2016 17:09

I predict a unanimous YANBU! How entitled can you get!

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 29/03/2016 17:10

Why didn't you move it back! Jesus Christ Hmm

JolieMadame · 29/03/2016 17:10

Ohhh so rude.

I'd have said "excuse me, what are you doing? The dirty crockery goes over there ---->"

Cheeky bitch.

oldlaundbooth · 29/03/2016 17:10

Your too British.

You should have said 'What in God's name do you think you are doing, woman?'

Ifailed · 29/03/2016 17:10

OK, so supposed the OP returned the tray to the original table, only for it to come back - what next, a food fight?

Chinesealan · 29/03/2016 17:11

I'm amazed all you did was give her a look. I am quiet but I would have told her to remove it. If she hadn't, I'd have dumped it carelessly all over her table.
When you say your table do you mean there were 2 of you at a 4 person table? If so she might have taken the empty section to be a suitable place to dump her stuff.

DangerMouth · 29/03/2016 17:12

Shock no wat

oldlaundbooth · 29/03/2016 17:12

You're - sorry, long day.

Vintage45 · 29/03/2016 17:14

Why didn't you just say not to at the time?

DangerMouth · 29/03/2016 17:14

Sorry dd2 just kicked me in the stomach with her pudgy 6 month strong legs. I meant no way!

Jenijena · 29/03/2016 17:14

I was in the same place as you at the same time. I would have kicked up a huge fuss, but can imagine being too wtf to respond appropriately...

GraysAnalogy · 29/03/2016 17:14

Reading stuff like this gives me rage, I wish I could swap bodies with the posters who can't bring themselves to open their mouths in situations like this

Dollybird99 · 29/03/2016 17:14

I would have tipped the lot over her head and then stamped on her foot for good measure. That would have given me the RAGE............

Dollybird99 · 29/03/2016 17:16

And then I might have actually punched her in the face, or stabbed her with a blunt knife...jeeeesus.

Sorry...bit hormonal today (and hangry).....

honeysucklejasmine · 29/03/2016 17:18

The only way YABU is:
You were sat at a four seat table
They were sat at a two seat table
There were no other tables free
There were no facilities for getting rid of full trays
There were no staff members in sight
You forgot to mention that she asked politely for permission first.

Which seems unlikely. Therefore, YADNBU, what a cheeky mare!
