Does anyone know, please, is it's safe/permitted to put an aerosol can in suit case? It's insect repellant.

TIA

It's fine, I have one in my suit case right here now at home. Or were you asking about taking it somewhere on the train?

AdoraBell · 25/03/2016 11:58

No, not on a train. Sorry I should have made that clearer. We're flying and it would be in the hold rather than cabin.

Thanks.

Hold is fine.

BadgerCrossing · 25/03/2016 12:00

Hold is fine - well, I always have an aerosol deodorant, and it's never been chucked out in 40 years of flying. Cabin baggage, no.

Lweji · 25/03/2016 12:03

This may help.

There are some restrictions for aerosols, but small personal items are fine.

Tactfulcactus · 25/03/2016 12:03

Fine in hand luggage too if less than 100 ml and placed in clear resealable bag.

AdoraBell · 25/03/2016 12:08

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the link Lweji. The can I have is over 100ml so can't go in my hand luggage.

No don't put it in your hand luggage. Aerosols are not permitted in the cabin and it will be confiscated (happened to my DSS last year after I told him repeatedly not to put his deodorant in his hand luggage) put the aerosol in your suitcase to go in the hold.

AdoraBell · 25/03/2016 14:16

Thanks again. According to that link it's too big so I'll leave it here and get a smaller roll on one instead.

Badgercrossing you have a 40 year old deodorant??!! Sorry-it appealed to my childish sense of humour. As you were.

I fly every year and never have an issue with it in my toilet bag in my checked in suitcase. The size restriction is for hand luggage. but a roll on takes up less space.

dementedpixie · 25/03/2016 15:11

I normally have a mini one in my hand luggage and the bigger one in the hold. Never had an issue with it
