...in a public place you should put it on silent?!?!

I've literally heard the same guys phone ring about 6 times in the last 20 minutes and each time he just ignores it! All I can think is he's avoiding someone persistent (I do this but i put my phone on silent!) or the phone is stolen and it's the owner ringing (although I accept this is a huge leap)

YANBU, it's annoying.

Mind you, even if he stole it he'd surely switch it off.

maybe hes got a certain ringtone for one person so he knows who it is and doesnt want to speak to them

Well as i said on another thread i got told off when being in the quiet carriage and my phone rang once and i didnt answer because i was in the quiet carriage but
Six times is a lot and after the third time he should of put it on silent obviously then you know the person is bugging you
