To think there's absolutely nothing wrong with having pale skin

and it looks a hell of a lot better than orange streaky tan?

I walked past a group of teenage girls today and they all had orange streaky legs. Why? What's wrong with just leaving your skin pale? Why do they think orange streaky legs are preferable? Confused

I've tried Bare Minerals on three separate occasions and all it did was make me look 10 years older - I don't have dry skin at all but it settled into all my tiny lines and made them look much deeper. Wish it would work for me as they do have lots of pale shades. It looks the same whether I apply it or get it done by one of their reps Sad

I bare my white arms and legs in the summer now, it's quite liberating. I'm fair and pale and wear lots of sunscreen. I used to cover up but now I don't care who sees. Getting older is great that way. I think a tan is gorgeous on naturally sallow skin (my daughter has beautiful golden skin that tans after the faintest ray of sun) but if you're Celtic-coloured you should probably work with what you have rather than burning or streaking orange all over you.

Adam Driver is pale skinned perfection

I'm very pale and the only foundation I've found that doesn't make me look orange is the palest shade in the MAC studio-fix range.

Heather9172 have you tried the bare skin range it's liquid, made with minerals and coconut serum so avoids settling as much

I use tinted moisturizer and some powder. Boots No7 is the last one I bought but I don't think they do that shade anymore. Body shop used to do a nice pale one.

I am pale. Once when I was wearing shorts in France my sister helpfully remarked that I looked like a corpse. But I was a goth, so it rarely bothered me. I make a half hearted attempt at a pale tan these days but my legs remain stubbornly pale.

I find it strange anyone would mind people seeing their natural skin! I wouldn't imagine I would need to cover mine and I felt the same as a teenager too by the way.

I will admit to using that summer glow moisturiser or whatever it is. Though that has something to do with having olive skin and living in Scotland, without regular sunshine I start to look yellow and sickly.

and judging by some comments those that are naturally tanned through their heritage (like myself) or their job, are chavvy

I can't vouch for any other posts, but mine was simply directed at those whose sole objective from 2 weeks abroad is to lie in the sun and work on their tan or spends money achieving that same look at home.
