DISASTER!

I accidentally put a red snood in with dh's whites this morning. He was understandably rageful at this occurrence. AIBU to tell him to maybe do some of his own washing perhaps at some point?

Good and food don't rhyme Shock

BarbaraofSeville · 23/03/2016 07:40

How are people who say good and food rhyme pronouncing them? It's

Snoood
Fooood

Gud

Isn't it?

Bunbaker · 23/03/2016 07:40

", he never does any of his own laundry?"

I don't separate laundry into mine, OH's and DD's. I separate it into colours. Each of us doing our own laundry would be incredibly wasteful of resources. OH could do his if he wanted to, but loading a washing machine isn't exactly an onerous task.

HoneyDragon · 23/03/2016 07:40

Math and bath though do.

Peregrina · 23/03/2016 07:52

I asked because I would pronounce it snoood, but DD pronounces it snud. I thought MN would give me a definitive answer!

But back to the subject.......

YANBU

People who say good, snood and food don't all rhyme -YABVU. How the fuck could they not?

ChameleonCircuit · 23/03/2016 08:03

Good is part of the family with the phoneme "oo" - oo oo look in a book

Food is part of the family with the phoneme "oo" - oo oo poo at the zoo

Yr 2 DS is why I can still remember these. Spent hours with them in reception!

OP - if he has a problem with your washing skills, he can do his own!

Peregrina · 23/03/2016 08:12

In some parts of the country e.g. North Staffs, they pronounce book to rhyme with zoo.

But yes, your DH should do his own washing if he has complaints.

murphyslaws · 23/03/2016 08:24

What's a snood Confused

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 23/03/2016 08:27

Oh I thought that was a scarf?

Topseyt · 23/03/2016 08:53

Why has this thread now made me want to buy myself a snood?

Irrational perhaps, and heading off topic.

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 23/03/2016 09:20

Oh I see. Looks cosy.

BreadEyes · 23/03/2016 17:00

hey now ladies! a snood is a woman's best friend these days and a top notch fashion choice! it was actually an accidental snood insertion but there we go! dh doesn't know how to wash (clothes that is haha.)

OP posts:
Notso · 23/03/2016 17:17

...they pronounce book to rhyme with zoo.

They say boo for book? Confused must make for interesting libraries Grin

Peregrina · 23/03/2016 18:00

No, they don't say boo, they put the k on the end but they pronounce the oo sound as in zoo.

DH reasonably well trained with doing the washing, and DS very well trained to do ironing, because he used to belong to air cadets, and was trained properly, and he doesn't allow me to iron his clothes. Grin
