Workman using my toilet!

2 workmen have literally just arrived they will be here for a maximum of 15 mins.
One of the men asked to use my toilet of course that's fine. 10 mins later he emerges. He didn't open the toilet window and left the toilet door open so I can smell a very nasty smell! My bathroom and toilet are seperate and he definitely did not go into the bathroom and wash his hands.
Am I be U to be annoyed at this or am I being a hormonal crazy lady?

YANBU. Obviously everyone uses the loo, but you make sure it's OK for the next person to use. Yuck to not washing.

He has also left ehem 'residue' I've just been in its made me feel really gippy 😷...
I wouldn't dare do that in someone's house I would be as discreet as possible

If he left ...residue, I would ask him to go back and clean the loo to the same condition as he found it in before his poo

There's just no excuse to leave skid, disgusting. Had a workman do that in my toilet, discovered it after he left. If it's above waterline he could have used toilet paper to clean it, if below waterline, dare I say it, do you have a toilet brush, he could have used?

No they left very soon after... I didn't go straight up because of the smell I mentioned I couldn't face it. When I had to go upstairs to put baby to nap I went in to open the window and noticed as the seat was up
Luckily I have a toilet brush but still 😷

Maybe he didn't know where the bathroom was to wash his hands (if separate from the toilet) ? Was the toilet brush also easy to find if he left "residue"?

Whilst it is disgusting, my job requires me to be out of the house from 3pm-10.30pm most days. Whilst I might only be at one person's house for an hour, at some point in the evening, I will need to use the toilet. Whilst I would always clean up after myself etc, I'd be horrified if clients started thinking, " but she's only been here x amount of time and now she wants to use the toilet" (in ref to the first comment about, "they will be here for a maximum of 15 minutes").

When we had our boiler fitted last year, one of the plumbers did this.

I went downstairs to where they were working and told him to wash his hands immediately because I didn't want his germ-ridden hands all over my kitchen and that he had absolutely no manners to leave a customers toilet in that state.

The boss called me later that day and apologised.

DH knows a few local plumbers through work. Apparently it's become a bit of an urban legend now that this guy got a bollocking for having a poo. DH hasn't said it was his partner who gave the bollocking but he's secretly very proud.

The Sky man did this at my house he left a right fucking mess. I had to chuck my loo brush (Shock I have a loo brush...) and everything.

Indeed it is fucking grim felt like complaining to Sky!!!!

The bathroom is next door to the the toilet and I told him that when I showed him where the toilet was... The brush was also in clear view as is the window he could have opened....
In regards to how long he would be here yes ok if you have to you have to go but you could at least leave it as he found it..

report him? what would you say - your workman had a poo and didn't wash his hands and he left some skidmarks in my toilet? erm right... I guess most businesses would think your a bit bonkers for that.

Maybe he was worried you would give out to him if he opened the window, you could have a cat that's not allowed out or something? It's not that big a deal IMHO, just chuck some bleach down it and open the window, it'll soon air out.

I'd be treating myself to a new loo brush after a good bleachdown of the toilet room.

I try to be compassionate and assume people just weren't raised to be discreet, gracious, clean, whatever and feel sympathy for them instead of disgust but it's grim, grim grim!

My MIL had a similar experience last week with the guy who laid her floor. Mega 'residue' 😷. There's a loo brush and bleach next to the toilet!
Everyone has to take a crap but it's just rude to leave it like that.

Is it just me that thinks it's odd not to have a sink in the toilet?

I mean - think of the doorhandles to the bathroom... Envy (sick not jealous!)
