So I can watch The Voice and Casualty?

It's always the bloody programmes I like to watch that are messed around with. Even if my programmes are a bit shit!

Is there a rugby thread?

Floralnomad · 19/03/2016 19:58

The only problem with the rugby being on tonight is that it clashes with the Athletics so I have to choose which to concentrate on - rugby is winning at the moment . This weekend has been great for armchair sports fans , athletics , rugby , cricket World Cup (T20) and the Milan - Sanremo cycling .

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/03/2016 19:59

Yabu The Voice and Casualty are both appalling.

glenthebattleostrich · 19/03/2016 20:02

Why not a special channel for the shite reality TV and shittier soaps then they wouldn't clog up the rest. BBC and itv could do a joint venture.

Catzpyjamas · 19/03/2016 20:10

I'm not suggesting a premium paid for channel, just a dedicated sports channel on council tv. Just recently I've watched a 6 part series over 8 weeks thanks to rugby. Sports seem to take priority over EVERYTHING else which is unfair to regular viewers.

fluffiphlox · 19/03/2016 20:19

Is Casualty still on? Hardly watch Saturday TV but am half watching the rugby with my best beloved.

Lockheart · 19/03/2016 21:18

YABU in that the Voice and Casualty are rubbish, and rugby is amazing.

YANBU in that I too am annoyed when my channels are full to the gills of something I am not interested in. Sports Relief, Eurovision, Children in Need (I support the cause, hate the show) etc etc. So I sympathise.

This is a rare night of actually having the TV on for me. Normally there's very little on that I want to watch.

SukeyTakeItOffAgain · 19/03/2016 21:28

Rugby is better than Saturday night shit.

FACT.

ExitPursuedByABear · 19/03/2016 21:30

Only if we win.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 19/03/2016 21:35

I bloody hate rugby but ffs how the hell is Casualty still on TV? It is so hackneyed and safe it makes Heartbeat look like The Wire.

ThursdayLastWeek · 19/03/2016 21:36

I was just saying the opposite to DH Grin

I like having a big game to focus on this Saturday night, usually we end up watching Dads Army (not a chore) and then some ancient comedy in order to avoid the same old Saturday shite.

I do understand about the tandem threads though - some of my best times have been on the strictly threads Grin

FrancesNiadova · 19/03/2016 21:38

YABVVVVVVU! It's 21-25 to Eeeeeengerrrrrrlaaaaaaand! GrinBlush

NellyTimes · 19/03/2016 21:44

If only there were several other channels to watch instead of just one eh? And if only somebody could invent some kind of box that maybe plays, I dunno, a disc of some sort that allowed you to watch whatever you wanted. It's not fair being forced to watch sport when there is no other way of occupying yourself.

FillingMakesMeVom · 19/03/2016 21:49

They have European football September - November/ December mostly every 2 weeks tue-Thu but I believe that's all on paid TV or the majority. MOTD weekend nights.

FA Cup on BBC sporadically January- May

6 nations this time of year

F1 Ch4 now but mostly sky

Honestly there's not that much Sport on free TV except for international tournaments every 2 summers, the Rugby, Snooker

2rebecca · 19/03/2016 21:55

The decent programmes have finished. I'm pissed off because last night they did sports children in need or whatever they called it which is really dull TV and now a night of rugby. Wish the other chanels would put something decent on to compete but Sunday night seems to be the only decent night of TV at a weekend now.

ExitPursuedByABear · 19/03/2016 22:03

Phew

DrDreReturns · 19/03/2016 22:08

Saturday night telly is always rubbish, so I'm happy the rugby is on.

FrancesNiadova · 19/03/2016 22:15

Not when we win the Grand Slam 6 Nations. What a night!Wine

If only they invented other channels to put sport on so those who don't want to watch it can watch their normal scheduled programmes instead.

I don't watch much TV, what I do watch is mostly light hearted crap so I do enjoy my crappy night Saturday TV.

I managed to have a nice evening posting here and reading though, and the Indian take away helped Grin

We didn't win the Six Nations. We came second.

:o

GiddyOnZackHunt · 19/03/2016 22:27

But we were the most entertaining team. St Davids

NellyTimes · 19/03/2016 22:34

There aren't any freeview sports channels actually, so it would be pretty unfair to sport fans to make them pay additional charges for everything they want to watch. Sport fans pay their TV licence too you know!
