It still smells ok, but 13 hours after use by date.

It will be fine right? Your nose would know when something is not safe?

I would use it. And have done in the past, still here to tell the tale.

You'd know if it were bad.

If it smells okay, then it should be fine to eat. I'm very careful about 'off' stuff, I'll throw food away well before it's use by date if it doesn't smell right. At the same time I'd definitely use stuff several days after it's sell by date is it's clearly fine.

Can't imagine that the use by date is so exact that it goes bad on the stroke of midnight.

Assuming it is raw and not cooked and smells OK I would use it.
