My OH has lost his vital work keys. Can't underestimate how essential they are -without outing us but he was explicitly told at his training that it would he wouldn't be able to work there anymore if these were lost. Locks would have to be changed, the cost would be extraordinary. So important.

We both saw them in the flat but have since turned the place upside down looking- we don't THINK they've left the property. However, there have been lots of viewings by estate agents. I had a big tidy up yesterday.

It's been a rough week for us both. Anybody lost something like this? What did you do? Hoping for positive stories please.

I lost my engagement ring g for a day I looked everywhere turns out the bastard handcream bottle had a domed bottom and I'd put it on top of the ring!!!

As a recent survivor of Lost Passport Day, I feel for you OP - so glad you found them in the end. Reward yourselves with Wine as soon as reasonably possible!

AdrenalineFudge · 05/03/2016 13:41

Keep looking - even if you've looked in the same place before.

I've also lost something important which did eventually turn up but I'd really turned the place upside down by that point.

Good luck!

Thank goodness. Now get a Tile and the Tile app, attach Tile to keys and you'll be able to track it on your phone or have it play a sound if you can't find them in the future.

Well done!

The relief so just so huge when you finally fine the lost thing. I couldn't find my passport a few weeks ago, on the day I needed to take it into the bank as photo ID for a CHAPS money transfer I had to make to the solicitors so we could complete on our new house purchase. After ripping my flat apart looking for it, on my third panicked phone call to DH he suggested looking in the scanner part of the printer (I'd needed a photocopy of it some time ago) and there it was.

When my mum was coming home after 13 weeks in hospital, she had lots of stuff to take. She wasn't feeling great so just went in her pjs and dressing gown. When we got home, we realised her false boob, following her mastectomy and expensive wig had been left behind.
We never got either of them back which seemed odd. The boob was made to measure so wouldn't have been much use to anyone else unless they were the same size as mum. Understand the wig a little more.

Phew!! Well done OP.

I was in this awful panic yesterday as I had sent one of my passports off to get the visa for the trip I am going on (mn'ing on the way to the airport!) could only find the passport without the visa - St Antony came good for me and found it shoved at the back ignore of the kitchen cupboards - the relief was immense!

Great news OP Grin When I was married, my ex-husband's wedding ring went missing for two years!! One day I finally found it when I was emptying a big bag of balls (the type that go in a ball pit). The bag hadn't been emptied in a couple of years so it seems that when my ex last packed up the balls his ring came off by mistake!

Yellowbird54321 · 05/03/2016 21:26

Glad you found them OP Grin
I lose things quite a lot, yesterday I couldn't find a memory stick (full of important work related stuff) and was totally convinced it was gone for good, only to find it in my purse today Grin
I lost my house / car keys once for about 3 days - I'd given up looking for them (had a spare set) when I came across them on top of the guinea pig cage in the shed.
And some years ago I left a tenner on the kitchen worktop for my son then it went missing, I kept wondering if son had taken it but was pretending he hadn't (I couldn't quite believe he would do this and felt bad for thinking it but couldn't understand how else it could have gone missing) about two weeks later I found it on the driveway, near the wheelie bins among a load of autumn leaves! The kitchen was at the back of the house and the driveway at the front, the tenner must have blown outside when I'd opened the back door and travelled to the driveway - what were the chances?!

My engagement ring Sad

I never found it, I totally retraced my steps and got myself in such a state that I was throwing up but it's gone. We claimed on the insurance and got an identical ring but I don't feel the same when I look at it Sad
