Making faces at baby

blondieblonde · 04/03/2016 11:01

AIBU to scowl at people walking behind me while I pram our baby around making faces and waving at her, just as I am trying to get her to sleep?

OP posts:
CaptainCrunch · 04/03/2016 11:06

Yeah.

CreamofTartar · 04/03/2016 11:07

People are following you around in order to make faces and wave at your baby?

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 04/03/2016 11:07

I feel your pain, once a lady stopped me to ask if I was walking round and round the park to get the baby's sleep. When I replied yes she proceeded to TICKLE him! Shock

blondieblonde · 04/03/2016 11:08

I'm sure they're real people Wink

OP posts:
SleepyBoBo · 04/03/2016 11:21

Not unreasonable at all. I suggest making a sign to hang on the hood declaring 'DON'T LOOK AT MY BABY', so this doesn't happen again in public places.

puzzledbyadream · 04/03/2016 11:29

Sorry. If a baby is looking over a parent's shoulder I tend to smile or pull a silly face at it. Clearly I am a very U person.

ZiggyFartdust · 04/03/2016 11:50

Strangers SMILED at your baby? You should fucking shoot them, the bastards, how dare they?

The things people on MN will whine about, its a never ending list.

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 04/03/2016 14:23

OP is clearly being light hearted.

Some people on here act like they've got their tampons in sideways. Grin

Gracey79 · 04/03/2016 14:25

This drives me mad too, or when they finally drop off a jogger with headphones in will yell morning Angry

SaucyJack · 04/03/2016 14:25

My baby scowls at strangers herself.

That's ma girl!

ShesGotLionsInHerHeart · 04/03/2016 14:27

The utter cunts. Grin

FigMango1 · 04/03/2016 14:27

This is lighthearted? It's not even funny!

passmethewineplease · 04/03/2016 14:27

Some horrible people about these days.

Fucking smiling? Arseholes.

YABU, obviously. Grin

Micah · 04/03/2016 14:30

"Pram" is a verb?

ShesGotLionsInHerHeart · 04/03/2016 14:32

Micah that made me Confused so I decided it must be a typo, and she meant push. Otherwise my head would have exploded, making such a mess.

leelu66 · 04/03/2016 14:35

Is this a stealth 'my baby is soo cute strangers love her' boast?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/03/2016 14:39

So you rather they look stone faced at your baby. Hmm.

molyholy · 04/03/2016 14:43

Them fucking smiling bastards. Unfortunately, they probably don't know that you are trying to get your baby to sleep. Maybe the inconsiderate twats aren't mindreaders.

AppleSetsSail · 04/03/2016 14:44

From MN I've learned that mothers of small babies do not want strangers to pat them on their heads or god forbid stroke their cheeks. I will now add smiling to the list.

GastonsPomPomWrath · 04/03/2016 14:46

People that smile are cunts. What is there to be happy about? Ever. Fuckers.

DatsunCogs · 04/03/2016 14:51

YANBU. You need to cultivate a steely glare, like mine AngryWink I am nevertheless often bothered at a critical eyes-dropping moment, but usually for directions, my baby's obviously not as cute as yours, OP

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/03/2016 14:58

I pram
I will be pramming
I prammed

The last time I peeked in a lady's pram there was a dog in it. I'm still shocked now. I didn't know people did this.

molyholy · 04/03/2016 15:04

Was the owner trying to pram her dog to sleep though ilost. I hope you didn't smile at it.
