AIBU to ask why and say I don't get it?

If someone in my family told me to lose weight or cut my fringe I'd still think they were a dickhead tbh.

If someone does their eyebrows like this they know what they look like. It's like wearing an outlandish dress or a bright orange coat. If people are laughing at you then that's their problem.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 03/03/2016 20:31

I'd only say something if specifically asked to comment, particularly if someone was adopting this style.

Clara does this cafe have anything else to recommend it? I'm going there on holiday.

ElasticPants · 03/03/2016 20:55

I'm worried I have the type of eyebrows people snigger at.

We should have an anonymous eyebrow critique thread.

NurseRosie · 03/03/2016 21:31

I'm sure if you are conscious of it you don't. If they are done right they can look good x

I don't have eyebrows as I developed Trichyblahdeblahmania when I was 10. You know, that hair pulling thing. I used to crayon them on, then I had them tattooed on (it's fading now), and now I use WOW powder to fill them out. Well, to actually produce eyebrows.

I know they look fake. One of the school mums can't keep her eyes off them. But what else can I do?

Wagglebees · 04/03/2016 00:07

Trich powder tends to look good. Maybe she can tell something is different but it's so subtle that she can't tell what it is, hence the staring. She sounds rude anyway.
You could try patting a bit of translucent powder over the coloured and the carefully brush it off. Can help tone down the edges. Though I'm sure they're fine. Give staring school mum the finger next time.

Claraoswald36 · 04/03/2016 10:09

Trichyy - I have the trich affliction too and have eyebrow paranoia. I might look at the wow powder would you recommend?

Skylander01 · 04/03/2016 12:41

Patterkiller - deffo a Scousebrow thing! My daughter spends more time on her brows than anything else!

I don't have any photos handy right now, but I had it done at Natural Enhancement in London. If you Google it they have lots of pictures on the website - mine were hair stroke brows. I went as a model, so had a trainee working on me (under strict supervision of course!) so it was much cheaper than the prices advertised on the website (which I couldn't afford).

I don't mind PMing you a photo when I find one! They are really faded now (need re-doing but I am pregnant so can't have it done right now) so a current photo wouldn't really show you what it is actually like.

CaptainCrunch · 04/03/2016 13:16

It's just fashion, it'll change again soon enough. There were trends I've hated more. I couldn't stand when everyone had hair straightened to within an inch of its life and those horrible porn star square nails. I certainly wouldn't have told anyone though, they probably think I'm a right dick with my curly wurly hair.

Mousefinkle · 04/03/2016 14:27

I've naturally got thick Brooke Shields style eyebrows. I absolutely cannot be arsed plucking and preening them so they're just as they are. I get complimented on them a fair bit, it's a strange thing to choose to compliment imo but they've really become a massive thing since cara delvingne and the whole scouse brow thang. They're such a defining feature. Eyebrows that are too thin really annoy me yet I remember that being in fashion sort of 2007 time and I used to pluck mine really thin then too. Trends come and go. This one will fizzle out before long. The sharpie look does look horrendous especially when they're pitch black on a peroxide blonde girl.

Vixxfacee · 04/03/2016 14:29

I hate threads like this mocking eyebrows. There are in betweens of thin over plucked or bushy un groomed eyebrows and those crazy drawn on one's.

Oysterbabe · 04/03/2016 14:30

I know someone who has had massive eyebrows tattooed on. Fuck me they look ridiculous.

trichyyy · 04/03/2016 18:00

Hello ClaraOswald - I use WOW powder which you get from hairdressers. It's really the root touch up powder and one day I thought I'd use it on my eyebrows to match the colour of my hair and it worked brilliantly. I use a small lipliner brush to stroke it on. It's great because it's waterproof so I can use it in the swimming pool / sauna etc, without worrying that it is going to wash off. I keep thinking about getting some of that Wonderbrow stuff, which is actually a powdery pencil, I think.

Wagglebees Thanks for the tip - I'll try that! I don't have a fringe so I suppose I could try that. I used to have a fringe but the hairdresser kept rubbing off my eyebrows when she was trimming it so I grew it out in the end.

Claraoswald36 · 04/03/2016 18:09

Thanks that's really helpful and yy to hairdressers not being mindful about eyebrows this has happened to me too!
