Any ideas where I can get that much from?

No chance of saving as what I need to spend is a bit more than what I earn. Nothing to sell (except a kidney). No rich, elderly relatives.

Do you have a thorough business plan? If you do, and have your costings realistically worked out, with a good credit rating, your best bet would be having a chat with the Business Manager at your regular bank.

However, they may have concerns about the loan being used to pay your mortgage & living expenses as much as your actual start up costs.

Also, would you be thinking of applying for working tax credits whilst you are getting going with your business? I only ask because they are now asking for proof of your new business being realistically viable & profitable before making the award - this is a new thing. I myself have recently started out as self-employed and have been refused working tax credits until I can prove that the business is making money.
