To think phone emojis are shit and mumsnet ones are amazing?

So, I have around 75 emotion emojis on my phone yet struggle to adequately portray how I am feeling. The vast majority are weird or useless. For example there is nothing that resembles Confused or Hmm.

Mumsnet have 10 and I have never felt the need for anymore than that Grin.

I particularly like the Hmm.....

YANBU.

The MN ones are all you need.

Robotgirl · 26/02/2016 12:24

Haha
I totally agree. In fact most days I have at least 50 Hmmmoments and more recently about 100 Confused moments. Someone remind me of the meaning of the biscuit?

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2016 12:25

The biscuit is supposed to mean 'No Comment'.

LordTrash · 26/02/2016 12:25

Yes - the phone ones are too try-hard, mn emojis are classic.

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/02/2016 12:27

YANBU

MN ones are the only ones I've ever liked. The phone emojis are just litter Angry

ophiotaurus · 26/02/2016 12:30

I so wish I had Hmm and Confused for Facebook.

PhilPhilConnors · 26/02/2016 12:30

I love the Hmm face, there is nothing on the phone emojis that even comes close.

However, I do love 😱 this and 😂 this face and think they portray a level that Shock and Grin just don't cover.

Sanchar · 26/02/2016 12:30

I have some great ones on my tablet but they look completely different when posted on MN, not sure why they change.
Using MN smilies are a pain as I have to press 3 buttons to get to the brackets on the keyboard,

Assquatch · 26/02/2016 12:30

Hmm love this face. My phone emoji updated the other day but still noHmm Angry

WishICouldThinkOfACoolUsername · 26/02/2016 12:32

I was going to post the same thing. What does my frequent desire to use Hmm say about me though?!

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2016 12:32

Non MN emojis make me Hmm especially (as I have said many times) I can't see them all on MN, they appear as tiny squares. That makes me Confused

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 26/02/2016 12:36

Hmm & Confused are personal favourites of mine. I rarely use my phone emojis except on instagram.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 26/02/2016 12:38

Oh & I try & strike through in text message a lot. Usually those that I'm sending to DH Grin

JeanneDeMontbaston · 26/02/2016 12:44

YY, totally agree.

Other emoticons just feel wrong.

BertieBotts · 26/02/2016 12:46

The scream one is okay, I don't like the crying with laughter one. Grin is much better. The heart eyes one is vomitous and the smug closed eye smile one is just begging for a slap.

tabulahrasa · 26/02/2016 12:49

I like the MN ones...but I've always thought it needs a 😐

FankEweVeryMuch · 26/02/2016 12:55

The new emojis have cleared up a lot of my angst but we need a fingers crossed one.

This is the best 🤔 And the jazz hands one 🤗

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2016 13:18

Fank they are little squares for me.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 26/02/2016 13:20

Hmm Hmm Hmm

If they could just put the hmm face on iPhone emojis I would be happy. There are so many situations when I wish I had it!

DiamondStuddedFlunkie · 26/02/2016 13:26

Just counted FIFTEEN phone emojis to portray sadness, yet no sarky eyebrow Hmm....

Maybe it's because mumsnet is British and we tend to have Hmm and Confused moments more often?

OP posts:
RDWRER · 26/02/2016 13:28

I use the 🐋 (whale) surprisingly frequently. YABU until MN add a whale.

Sparklingbrook · 26/02/2016 13:28

How is it that I can see Phil's but not Fank's emojis? Confused

RDWRER · 26/02/2016 13:30

Hmm, the whale that appeared in my pp doesn't look nearly as impressive as the one I typed in, which had a "haters gonna hate" expression on its little whale face.

IslaSinga · 26/02/2016 13:32

I agree - I always want to use the Hmm face! I have an 'eye roll' emoji I use often though.
