AIBU to be annoyed with DH for not ever finishing anything in our house.
Things are starting to break before rooms have even been finished. Our garden has been unusable for 4 years.
He has loads of grand plans but not enough oomph to get the job done.

Having some money will help. Prioritise the most necessary jobs or the ones you care about most and spend time/money organising someone to do those first.

Are your finances joint? It might help if it's DH's money paying for help too!

I have plumbed a bathroom and a downstairs loo - probably cos Dh realised it involved grubbing around with toilets and soil pipes so did the "you are quite capable" line.Hmm

Also spent many hours with my dad rewiring his house - twice in fact!

However joinery is a bit of a mystery to me and my plastering looks a little rustic.

But I can decorate and use a mitre saw (terrifying!)

Dh also is the tiler round here.

Basically you won't know till you try and yes your first attempt will look like the unholy child of Bodgit and Scarper.

You could give him X months to complete A, B, C. Cash to go to tradesperson by X date if significant progress not made.

You are proposing to spend the money on the family, not a spa week.

BillSykes, the OP has just had an unexpected windfall that makes the idea of hiring someone to get it all done a possibility.
