To hate the office lunch box police

Anyone else have these, the ones that disect the nutritional value of your lunch, the ones that hovver until you have given a full and detailed rundown of exactly what you're eating, or the worst the woman who comes and sticks her face in ot and smells it uninvited to do so?!

I can deal with lost office etiquette but this is driving me up the wall at the moment.

When I was pregnant I definitely felt judged by a few people for the amount of crap I ate. I didn't care though, it made me feel better. My DD is mostly made of cheese and onion pasties.

No. I don't think anyone would dare.

This is bizarre. Why do you let them behave like this with you?!

No-one has ever said anything like this to me. I can't imagine they would do it a second time if they did!

I hate it! I always get questioned about my food being a coeliac. I don't tend to have gluten free bread as it's expensive. One woman put her face right over the top of my salad that had a lot of different things in and said "what the hell is that". I replied "it was going to be my lunch until you breathed all over it". She's not done it since!

My office likes to discuss what they've all got for lunch and ask to try bits. It's why I sit in my car to eat now.

Why do you not say something?

YANBU! My office is a daily charade of:

"Ooh what have you got today?"
"That smells good!"
"Did you make that yourself?"
"You're making me hungry!"
"Oh I love "
"I need to start bringing in lunches"
"I've never heard of that"
"I made that the other day, it was amazing"

Awesome, but I'm trying to eat here guys.

Oh yes, the "ooh, that looks healthy" comments said with a slightly different emphasis depending on whether lunch is a) actually healthy or b) a plate of chips. Sarcastic and nosey either way.

Its one of the main reasons I applied for a job in a different team. It was either leave or someone was going to be impaled on a plastic fecking "spork".

Saying anything falls on deaf ears here.

I love food but have zero interest in anyone's lunch but my own.

I had two of these in my last job and I hated it with a passion.

Offender 1:
Commented several times the one time I'd brought some leftover pizza for lunch.
I craved fruit juice during pregnancy...told me that "all that sugar can't be good for the baby".
Once even commented on the quantity of salad I'd eaten for my lunch. Plain bog standard salad with a boiled egg chopped through it.

Offender 2 not quite as bad:
Commented on whether or not she thought the smoothie I'd made for my breakfast was really the healthy choice.
Organised a team meal once while I was pregnant and checked with me several times in front of colleagues that I was pre-ordering the mussels because "it might not be the best choice given it's not just you".

offender 2 was lovely in other ways but offender 1 did eventually get told to mind his own business and concentrate on his ryvita

My office next door neighbour used to take a really unhealthy interest in my lunches, all of the above and more. I was so glad when I moved jobs - and I can quietly sit in peace shoveling left overs into my face with no one saying a thing.

Nutritional content woman once asked a friend who had a small chocolate bar (fun size one) why she even bothered going to the gym if she was going to eat like that.

Tell-me-everything man and sniffer woman are harmless but if you made a point of it they just laughs and carry on.
Some poor girl just got interrogated after buying lunch from the high street as to the cost/doesn't that look good/how warm is it/ etc etc etc etc.

This drives me loopy. I have been accused of not eating enough, being flash with my cash if I dare buy lunch or a coffee, eating too many carbs if I have a one slice of bread sandwich. The list goes on it drives me crazy

I have one of these but I like her so I let it go

I've just eaten shredded chicken, salad and a mini naan bread under her watchful gaze!

Can you get some alphabet cookie cutters and cut your sandwiches into the words Piss Off?

We have one woman who has appointed herself 'our conscience '. She's been known to hide people's cake if they're overweight.

The worst thing? She's our line manager.

A team I was once part of used to engage in competitive 'healthy' undereating. It peaked when a colleague produced a whole little gem lettuce and 3 cherry tomatoes as her lunch.

I, of course, was the outcast because I used to happily munch on sandwiches and the odd bag of crisps washed down with coffee.

Thank fuck I no longer work there.

Oh yes, the "ooh, that looks healthy" comments

God, I hated these. Along with, "Ooh, treating yourself to Pret today! I wish I could spend like that."

If she tried to get between me and cake I dread to think what would happen to her. I probably wouldn't have a job there to say the least....

Ha yes. A new lady has started and she eats sweets and drinks fizzy pop all day. Nobody has passed comment.

She looked over at my vegetables yesterday asked me 'how do you live?!' She almost had a stroke when I told her I don't drink fizzy pop and keeps looking at my water and shaking her head.

She is lovely though, it's more amusing than annoying.
