To want to rally against Cadbury?

It's coming up to Easter so all the yummy LOOKING Cadbury Easter eggs are in the shops and I'm getting more and more angry at what they've done to their 'chocolate'
Creme eggs used to be rich chocolate with a runny centre, now it's that vile stuff with a more solid, yakky centre.
I used to love the buttons Easter eggs, usually about £1, and just enough for a nice anytime Easter treat.
Please, someone, what can we do?
I read the thread on here a while back about mumsnet doing a deal with Cadbury, but I don't buy it anymore, I won't.
What happened to the 'glass and a half of full cream milk'??
I know it's a first world problem, but it really bothers me.
I know there's alternatives, but I find aldi chocolate too sweet, Galaxy isn't as nice as it used to be, and nothing compares to Cadbury of old!
Will they ever relent? Surely sales must be down? dramatically

Just buy something else. Cadbury's has always been shit. Fuck knows why people are so attached to it.

nanetterose · 18/02/2016 11:54

Just be grateful your only choice isn't Hersheys.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 18/02/2016 11:55

I still like Cadbury. It's still my 'go to' chocolate. I've got some Dairy Milk Wholenut in the kitchen at the moment.

More for the rest of us then.

Eggsandketchup · 18/02/2016 11:58

Lindt wholenut is amazing. Green and blacks milk chocolate is nice too. As is moser Roth from aldi.
Cadburys had that nice nostalgic chocolate taste, I miss it. They're fucking idiots for making it all plasticky.

Mairyhinge · 18/02/2016 12:36

A freind of mine said Hershey's tastes like vomit Shock
I like Lindt, went to their store in Swindon last year and I could happily spend a few hundred quid in there but it's 250 miles from home.
I just wish Cadbury would hold their hands up,admit they were wrong and sort it out.

I like Hersheys too! Shock

My taste buds must be defective Grin

Try the Aldi creme eggs, lovely.
Mondelez (Cadburys) dodge taxes too.

I haven't bought a single creme egg this year, very unlike me as i used to adore them.

Dp offered to buy me a large box when in labour to try and help me through - thats how much i used to love them.

They're just not that nice now and not worth the calories!! Makes me sad.

sparechange · 18/02/2016 12:57

I don't understand this weird 'National Treasure' status that some people attach to chocolate
It is cheap junk food, always has been, always will be.

Glad their spurious suggestions of chocolate being a nutritious calcium source have gone as well!

No wonder we are a nation of lardarses and borderline diabetics when cheap chocolate is deemed worthy of protests on the street. It's like something out of a dystopian film, ffs

LaurieMarlow · 18/02/2016 13:05

Cadbury's has always been fairly rubbish. The only reason why people are so attached to it is because the taste as been ingrained as desirable from childhood.

Treat yourself to some genuinely decent chocolate.

MitzyLeFrouf · 18/02/2016 13:06

Pretty dull idea for a dystopian film.

The Hunger Games!

Woah, dude...

LaurieMarlow · 18/02/2016 13:09

sparechange, in a lot of countries they genuinely believe ice cream has nutritional merit (all that milk). I'm like Hmm

LittleLionMansMummy · 18/02/2016 13:13

I still like Cadbury - although their creme egg indiscretion is verging on unforgivable. The fact that they are Fair Trade makes me feel infinitely better about consuming vast quantities of chocolate. And it's not as expensive as M&S or Waitrose.
