I phoned the maternity unit at 11am today after contracting since yesterday, they told me to come in for 5 tonight. Still contracting and I haven't been checked on
Just on a bed right next to the nurses station where I can here one nurse saying "bed 3 (me) can't possibly be in Labour she must have ate too much" is this standard Confused this is my first so no idea. Just in so much pain and not really sure what I expected Blush

I had HG, my baby was delivered eventually after a week long stay in hospital at 36 + 5 weeks after a 5 day long induction went quite badly wrong. My everlasting memory is that I was still throwing up on the operating table and the nicest words every said to me were from the antitheist said he had a very expensive drug that would stop me vomiting and that I wouldn't be sick again. I felt the most pure love and gratitude I every have for a complete stranger in that moment.. From the moment they decided to do a CS to delivery took 9 minutes and in that 9 minutes and in that 9 minutes with that drug and the delivery of my baby it my HG disappeared.

I threw up up between 9 and 15 times a day. for 33 weeks. I don't regret it one little bit as my baby is my world... but it was horrific.I understand anyone wanting their baby to be delivered early.

Rather oddly I left hospital weighing more than I did before I went in between all the drugs and my ability to eat again.

I can't believe they've kept you in all this time.

CityFox · 19/02/2016 19:46

It won't be long now! All of a sudden you'll realise they're coming more regularly, you'll get really exited, then within a few hours you'll be wishing they'd stop Wink

FayKorgasm · 19/02/2016 20:07

If its any consolation lots of women have stop start slow labours with their first and then once they reach four or five centimeters progress quite quickly (but not too quickWink) .
Lots of walking, hip swaying.

sstewart2016 · 19/02/2016 20:33

Still no fudging baby lol
Though I am the absolute next to go onto the labour ward thank heaven's Grin

whatevva · 19/02/2016 20:57

Oh bother, I keep hoping that it will progress quickly for you, after a long, slow start. Still might though Grin.

sstewart2016 · 19/02/2016 21:33

Hopefully whatevva, the OH has been told to stay as we are next in line so he is dozing off on the chair I feel quite bad though. Going to try and sleep myself too

WorthMoreThanThat · 19/02/2016 21:58

Good luck Grin

Youarentkiddingme · 19/02/2016 22:04

Oh hopefully this is about to become a live birth thread. Sending dilating thoughts your way Grin

Although you're doing better than me - I never went past 1cm!

TwoKettles · 19/02/2016 22:21

Keep going, OP - this time next week you'll have forgotten this bit, and will be smuggled up with your precious babe!
Have we started the betting yet?
I'll wager girl, weighing 6lb 7oz.
Anyone?

TwoKettles · 19/02/2016 22:22

Snuggled! That will teach me to not check before posting

sstewart2016 · 20/02/2016 07:22

Still not on Labour ward still no baby lol
OH went home about 5am when it became clear that I wasn't next, so I've had the worst nights sleep since being here so now am praying with every bone in my body it's not today Grin
Though they've just given me tea and toast with jam on it Grin no other lady has been given it so I think I may be going to the ward shortly

OP posts:
CalliopeTorres · 20/02/2016 07:46

I'm totally at a loss as to why you're being kept on the ward and not at home?

sexesam · 20/02/2016 07:48

Keep us updated! Good luck. FX this doesn't go on much longer. X

sstewart2016 · 20/02/2016 07:51

I was kept in yesterday due to being on a drip, it just so happens the labour ward is quite busy so just had to wait it out

OP posts:
AliceScarlett · 20/02/2016 07:56

Sorry to be really nosey, but what drip are you on?

stitchglitched · 20/02/2016 07:58

Good luck OP! HG is awful, I had it through the whole of my last pregnancy and being ketotic affected the progress of my labour and I had to be put on a drip during it. I was retching and vomiting right up until the placenta came out and then it was like a switch flicked and I was starving and great! Hopefully you will feel better once the baby is out.

AtSea1979 · 20/02/2016 08:05

Aw it doesn't sound like a nice experience for your first

Flipping heck you're going through it! I hope it is today in that you get to meet your baby but hope it isn't if you've had a rubbish night again. (ime these babies always decide to make an appearance when you've had the worst night Grin).

bumbleymummy · 20/02/2016 08:16

You poor thing! Hope you get some rest today and baby makes a quick (but not too quick!) appearance soon :)

Ubik1 · 20/02/2016 08:25

Good luck opSmile

MagpieCursedTea · 20/02/2016 08:55

Hope you manage to get some rest before they induce you. All the best Thanks

OhShutUpThomas · 20/02/2016 09:05

Why are you on a drip? And why are you next to go to labour ward if you're not in labour?

sstewart2016 · 20/02/2016 09:12

I was on a drip for HG, next to go to the labour ward to be induced there
