Daniel Craig was a great Bond. Far better than anyone else, including Sean Connery, and far better than I thought he'd be (to my shame).

It's just that at 47 they were going to replace him soon because by the next film he'd be at least 50 and then everyone would be ridiculing him for being too old.

I'm really pleased that he went out while he was ahead.

I'm getting bored with Idris Elba. All he's got is "tormented & angry all at once" and it's wearing thin. Granted, Bond doesn't require much acting but a tormented action man would just be ... pathetic. I liked Craig's Bond. He's done right not to cling to it, though. It's a one-dimensional role.

I'd love Bond to be black! Or Asian. How about a rugged Indian actor?

I'd love Bond to be a woman, but that may be stretching the concept a little too much for the box office. There is NO excuse for not having a female Dr Who, though!

My curveball American actor would be the guy who played Spike in Buffy (James Marsters). He is (was) very acrobatic and light on his feet, has an odd sexiness and can do an English accent. He might be too old now though, I'm not sure what age he was when he was playing Spike.

James Marsters was still very suave in Torchwood. Just googled him and he's 53!!
