He's a great actor, and he made ace Bond. But - Bond is not blonde. Fact.

Roll on Aidan Turner.

Time for a Welsh Bond. Tom Ellis (Gary in Miranda) is as sexy as Hell, and posh, in Lucifer and he was born in Bangor.

Dowser · 16/02/2016 07:58

Yes, he could definitely play a convincing bond....as well as Aidan turner of course.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 16/02/2016 08:17

Tom Ellis?

I think he lacks that charisma and glint in his eye needed for Bond.

lostinyonkers · 16/02/2016 08:21

I wondered about James Norton being too young, but he's 30 now, and if he signed up for 3 films that would take him through his thirties. He looks the part, chiselled, tall, twinkle in his eye. And we know he can do murderous thug, which, behind the tuxedo, is what Bond actually is.

I could be persuaded by Mr Norton.

I would have LOVED to have seen Richard Armitage as Bond, he is so very pretty, but maybe too old now.

BYOSnowman · 16/02/2016 09:12

Bond needs to be forties so need actor late thirties that can go through to fifty

Tom Ellis is not bond! He looks like a bike courier. Don't know why but it rules him out of being bond IMO

Whycantweallgetalong · 16/02/2016 10:18

BYOSnowman Where do you live? He looks nothing like the bike couriers we get round here Wink

AMouseLivedinaWindMill · 16/02/2016 10:31

Chris Hemsworth? I might graciously accept him, I think Grin

How kind of you Hester Grin, that makes three of us then .

feellikeahugefailure · 16/02/2016 10:36

I'd like to see a black bond.

BreakingDad77 · 16/02/2016 10:37

He was ok with bond and sam mendes helped a lot but as other mentioned its all the twattyness and whinging about the role, ditto Harrison ford and star wars.

How about michael fassbender?

Why cant we have a women 008 - Gwendoline Christie?

squoosh · 16/02/2016 10:37

'Oh, and Bond can't have a cat's-bum mouth, so no Damien Lewis.'

Ugh. Damien Lewis' mouth is SO smug. He always looks as though he's on his way to whip a few peasants.

Definite 'no' to Mr Lewis thank you.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 10:38

I did think James Norton seems a likely candidate. He's v handsome, v English and not hugely famous yet.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 16/02/2016 10:40

We were watching Thor last night.

Chris Hemsworth is gorgeous and ridiculously tall and buff but he has distractingly weird nostrils so I'm going to pass on him.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 16/02/2016 10:42

Thor can't be Bond plus he's an Aussie, I'd be looking for his hammer to come out from under his cape.

Bond must be British.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 10:44

Pierce Brosnan made a good non-British Bond.

RiverTam · 16/02/2016 10:45

I also doubt they'd cast someone who is already associated with a big franchise like Marvel.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 16/02/2016 10:48

I'd be very distracted by Thor's hammer!

squoosh · 16/02/2016 10:48

Tom Hiddleston's head is too distractingly tiny.

BagelGoesWalking · 16/02/2016 11:05

If you like Matthias Schoenaerts, watch him in Rust and Bone with Marion Cotillard. Great film. He's also in A Bigger Splash with Tilda Swinton, in cinemas now.

I'd like to throw Michiel Huisman into bed the ring. He was great in Orphan Black, good in his 2 mins in Wild. I haven't seen him in GoT but sure he's sexy in that too.

AMouseLivedinaWindMill · 16/02/2016 11:10

Actually I think Bale is a good choice, old enough, manely enough, got depth....

Yseulte · 16/02/2016 11:23

You can't have a Belgian Bond!

Whatever next a Dutch Poirot?

squoosh · 16/02/2016 11:25

A Spanish Miss Marple!

Yseulte · 16/02/2016 11:26

Tom Ellis cheated on his wife so he can bugger off.

Right so casting roles are now based on actors own personal morality, we might as well forget the whole industry.
