Had my latest washing machine for two years. Or is it three now? Anyway, I can't stand it!! It irritates me HUGELY.

Set a full load of white shirts, t shirts, socks and undies off for a wash at 9.30. The display said it would take 2 hrs 35 min (long cottons wash with an extra rinse). Just been back in kitchen and it now says 1 hr 15 mins.

It is taking the p is it not? What is the point of having a smart machine if it isn't actually smart at all?

I shall continue to mutter unpleasant things to it every time I have to use it until it gives up. Its a bollocks of a machine, that's what it is.

You people are so funny. I put washing in the washer then get it out when it's finished.

Have never considered hovering angrily in front of it with the manual and a watch.

because I'm busy watching Jeremy Kyle

Thrilling thread update:

I called a washing machine engineer and yes he thinks there is a problem with the heating element, so all washes on a 40 setting have been being washed quickly in cold water for the past week or so. Not what I want! I want proper warm or hot water and proper long wash. Apparently it doesn't affect the 60 setting, so I'm shoving underwear in with the sheets and towels and crossing fingers.

I shall be annoyed to have to pay for a repair. The machine is only two or three years old. My previous machines that I have owned were Zanussi 1 (11 years), Zanussi 2 (7 years) Hotpoint Aquarius (7 years). Disappointed in Bosh Sad.

If only 2 or 3 years old could it be covered under the sale of goods act?

Meandthecat · 23/02/2016 20:59

My 33 day old Beko stopped working today, because it's over 30 days I have to wait for an engineer to contact me and then come out and look at it. Curry's (where I got it from) won't replace it as Beko won't agree an exchange.
I hate my washing machine.

Ive got a Bosch and i love it....i shove everything on a 40 degree timesaver option and it takes 1 hour....everything comes out perfect and is spun to 1600 rpm....i would never have a washer/dryer as ive heard that they are useless x

I love my Bosch ever since I discovered you can turn off the beeping at the end if the cycle. Lots of cycles, lots of other tweaks, fast spin, 15 min cycle, can open it during the cycle so long as the drum isn't full, it's great.

Washer update from me! Getting a brand new one tomorrow. They will take my old machine and I'm not paying for delivery. Yay! I can't wait Grin

Meandthecat sales of goods act covers you for 6 months (my machine is 5 months old). Good luck.

Meandthecat · 23/02/2016 22:16

Thank you, yes the Consumer rights act is 6 months, but after the 30 days they have the right to fix it first. So I will be chasing the repair company tomorrow.

My hot point I loved died and as I'm significantly poorer I bought a Beko... Big mistake... Huge

I hate the fact it has no timer.. Loads take for ever (though I'm not sure how long forever is as it has no timer.. It can't spin dry clothes despite being the same spin power.. It's powder drawer feels plastic and flimsy and I often press the go button and come back 20 minutes later to find it's not startedAngry I hate it I wish I'd got a hotpoint on the credit card ....
