I've tried so hard with my best friend and feel I've just had it all chucked back in my face. Why do I bother??

You bother because you are a nice person and a good friend. Now you must decide whether you want to bother in future or whether to invest your time with other friends instead.

Its crap when that happens but I have been there a few times with various people and mourn "losing them" at the time but there are others out there to meet and have fun with. Its their loss.

YANBU to expect to be treated with consideration and be fucked off when someone takes the piss, but if she's your only friend and you want the friendship to continue (at any cost?), could you be letting her get away with murders just to keep things as they are with her?

And she knows you won't call her out and plays on it to a certain extent?

She was awful and treated me like poo.

No ils are niece nephew ect. But I feel my best friends children are also niece nephew ect. Although it hurts having a neice I've never seen!!!
