Just that.
I am on the 5:2 diet and did 4:3 this week. My reward that l have been drooling over all day is a Chinese Kung Po shredded chicken Grin.
Cue DH going to pick up said meal and a Chicken black bean for himself-then he helps himself to 1/2 mine and said l thought we could share...
No it's my bloody dinner-if l had wanted Chicken and black bean l would have ordered it.
I am now in a huff after a minor strop
My Friday night is in tatters Wink
IANBU am l ?

Also I really want a Chinese now.

JessieMcJessie · 06/02/2016 13:26

Just irritated by your "I know best" attitude MadamdePompom.

MadameDePompom · 06/02/2016 13:31

Clearly.

Very, very irritated. And over such a trivial thing. ah well, if it makes you happy!

Sharing takeaway is my biggest pet hate esp as I'm veggie, oh yes please do all help yourself to "just a little" of the only fucking thing we've ordered I can fuxking eat.
Twats

Amen to that. If you wanted some Vegetable Madras that badly, order some and stop dipping mine you tightfisted cunts, especially when you start shovelling the fork that you've previously used to ear your meat based carry out with.

I fucking loathe tapas style meals for the same reason, especially when consumed with meat eaters. They'll order fout or five meat/fish based dishes have them to o themselves and then start wiring into the vegetable dishes I've ordered.

WanderingNotLost · 06/02/2016 13:50

This is one of the reasons why I order stuff my DP doesn't like!

JessieMcJessie · 06/02/2016 13:54

Trivial in your opinion. I have spent many years studying and writing about language and object to people like you making sweeping statements about dialect based on no data whatsoever/ in the face of clear evidence to the contrary. Would it hurt to be polite and qualify what you say with "in my experience...."?

MadameDePompom · 06/02/2016 13:59

Get over it Jessie. Before you do your blood pressure mischief.

InkleWinkle · 06/02/2016 17:47

I'm not sure the word 'chinky' is acceptable now wherever you're from.

And I'm also from Edinburgh and would use 'carry out' to mean alcohol.

JessieMcJessie · 06/02/2016 17:59

OP was parodying a Glasgow Ned, inkle. I suspect she doesn't drink Buckie either.

RaspberryOverload · 06/02/2016 18:12

I'm English and I knew what a carry out was.... Grin

Sharing is normally the case in our house. But in OP's case, her DH had eaten his own food and then wanted to eat some of OP's. That's not sharing.

shoofly · 06/02/2016 18:21

I'm in Northern Ireland, it was alway a carry out when I was growing up. Takeaway more commonly used now though.

OOAOML · 06/02/2016 18:30

I'm in Scotland and say carry out for food. Never used it for booze, but I suppose that's because I grew up in the middle of nowhere (slightly exaggerated, but not much) and I just remember my parents and their friends taking it in turns to go to each other's houses and consume vast amounts of booze, so not much transporting of it once you had stocked up your own house.

Where I grew up, the carry out didn't deliver so the order was phoned through then Dad would have to drive and collect it. It was a rare treat, mainly when Mum was off on the annual Rural trip.

I'm going out with friends in a week or so to a Chinese restaurant, and we already know we will order a selection of dishes and share. DH knows not to suggest it - he orders stuff with prawns which I don't eat.
