to be able to eat my own carry out meal

Just that.
I am on the 5:2 diet and did 4:3 this week. My reward that l have been drooling over all day is a Chinese Kung Po shredded chicken Grin.
Cue DH going to pick up said meal and a Chicken black bean for himself-then he helps himself to 1/2 mine and said l thought we could share...
No it's my bloody dinner-if l had wanted Chicken and black bean l would have ordered it.
I am now in a huff after a minor strop
My Friday night is in tatters Wink
IANBU am l ?

YANBU. I don't share my food either. Bugger that!

Carry out is booze where I'm from:)

I share but only pre agreed. There is absolutely no way I'm sharing if I do t want to.

I also have a couple of friends I don't share with as they eat quicker than me and I lose out!

I love almost every chinese dish there is.. apart from Cripsy shredded beef. I just do not see the attraction in it.. to me its like a bit of over cooked chewy batter with nothing inside it, yet everyone I know loves it and says it is amazing. Ive tried it from many takeaways and restaurants when its been on the table but nah... give me beansprouts instead any day lol!

Yanbu - food isn't made for sharing. Steal off my plate and expect to have a fork stuck into your hand, once bitten stabbed, twice shy.

YANBU black bean smells funky. If he had chosen something equally tasty it would be one thing.

Put your leftovers in tupperwear and label it tofu.

YANBU! I hate sharing my dinner. I only do it if I can't decide between two dishes and DP fancies the same ones, then we'll share. But he'd never just help himself, how rude!

I'm Scottish. A carry out is alcohol. A takeaway is food. Where I come from anyway Grin

Carry out is a takeaway in parts of Scotland.

That's why order a munchy box, a bit over everything. Tho it does have to be a Indian munchy box, not too keen on Chinese Grin

I am reminded of the Gavin and Stacey episode about this!

Hilarious!

Oh do fuck off all the English telling us what is "correct". If a Scottish person wants to call it a "carry out" they're not hurting you by using local dialect. And it's pronounced "carey oot" by the way.

I am lucky that I married a vegetarian so I never have to share my take away with him but I can have a bit of his if I feel like it :o

I live in Scotland and carry out here can be food or drink though it normally means food.

He is your husband!!

Surely you sorted out serious issues like whether you share food before the engagement???!?! JESUS. Way more serious than whether or not you both want kids.

Report
JessieMcJessie · 05/02/2016 21:09

OP YABU to want all of your own dish. But restaurant options are usually pretty huge so a whole one's a lot of you are on a diet, and you're not being very authentically Chinese!
