Just that.
I am on the 5:2 diet and did 4:3 this week. My reward that l have been drooling over all day is a Chinese Kung Po shredded chicken Grin.
Cue DH going to pick up said meal and a Chicken black bean for himself-then he helps himself to 1/2 mine and said l thought we could share...
No it's my bloody dinner-if l had wanted Chicken and black bean l would have ordered it.
I am now in a huff after a minor strop
My Friday night is in tatters Wink
IANBU am l ?

Revenge is a dish best served cold Smile

Monty27 · 05/02/2016 23:17

Have you scoffed the leftovers? Grin I would

inlectorecumbit · 05/02/2016 23:24

my left overs are in the fridge.
(D)H casually mentioned he was hungry-- l glowered at him. He is currently eating a plate of cereal. [fist pump emotion]

He can watch me tomorrow as l eat it in front of him.
As for revenge...l see he has a very large bar of fruit and nut beside his chair. Don't want to blow my diet but he needs to be taught a lesson.
what do l do???

Can the choccie bar be the :1? Well you can be 'good' tomorrow? Revenge is sweet. :)

BlackeyedShepherdsbringsheep · 06/02/2016 00:01

well if you do not eat it you could hide half of it.

Monty27 · 06/02/2016 01:39

Or all of it Grin

MadameDePompom · 06/02/2016 02:27

In Scotland a carry out/oot always refers to booze not food!

But back to the OP, I only share if I like what the other person has ordered. No way I'm giving up half my shredded duck for some dull sweet and sour chicken.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 06/02/2016 03:47

Kill him with FIRE!!! :D :D

2rebecca · 06/02/2016 06:31

I like to share curries and Chinese meals but have relatives and friends who don't. Agree that sharing or not sharing should be discussed before purchase. If 1 person wants to share and the other doesn't tough on the sharer. Just because Chinese banquets exist it doesn't mean all Chinese meals have to be banquets and you can never just eat your own meal like you would with UK food.
Chinese carry out here in Fife, although I'm English so call them take aways

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/02/2016 06:51

It doesn't always refer to booze. Well not in Edinburgh

JessieMcJessie · 06/02/2016 08:44

Or Stirling. Or Falkirk. I do hate the way Mumsnetters always seem to think their own narrow experience is the only valid one.

Katedotness1963 · 06/02/2016 08:48

Another Scot. Cerry oot is booze, takeaway is food.

FFS! Kate ONLY IN SOME PARTS OF SCOTLAND! What, do you think the OP has just randomly made up a phrase for the purpose of this thread!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 06/02/2016 12:14

Is it still carry out if it's delivered?

NoCapes · 06/02/2016 12:18

Clicked this thread just to see what the hell a carry out meal was
Won't say anything about it now though, too many angry Scottish people about

YABU

TrappedInAWitchesCurse · 06/02/2016 12:27

I'm Scottish and carry out = food to me too!

bumblefeline · 06/02/2016 12:30

Carry out in Dundee is a take away as well.

My DH is Scottish and when we first met, I was perplexed when he said he was getting a carry out.

Going food shopping is also called going out for messages Confused

BloodyDogHairs · 06/02/2016 12:37

And once you get your messages you put them on the bunker Smile

bumblefeline · 06/02/2016 12:41

Just had to ask DH to translate that for me Bloody.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 06/02/2016 12:55

In Northern Ireland a carry out may refer to both booze and food. Tis confusing.
