Wow. What a roller coaster / weird / car crash telly programme. I want to think Camilla was doing her best for the children but the whole paying rent for 30+year olds, school fees, chauffeurs and cash in envelopes use of funds does not sit right!

Anyone who knows more about this than me,Is it just propaganda?

They did do a lot of good, as I said you'd have to have been there to know that. They helped lots of people, my soon to be husband being one of them. They didn't pay anything for him, but put him on the right track - and he became the first member of his family to get a degree and is now earning over 60k per year. Not bad for a boy from a single parent family (his dad died), growing up in the shitty sides of Peckham.

I do think it was right that they were shutdown in the end, but to dismiss all the good work they did is unfair.

I'm surprised she got away with it so long. She was being smeared in 1990, why did it take so long for her to be finally "outed"?

I don't doubt they did some good- it would have been pretty much statistically impossible to have got through that much money without helping anyone. The question is how many more people could have been helped if that money had gone to someone who spent it wisely. I also think KC did a fair bit of harm by fostering dependence. I have lived and worked in KC's patch since they opened and it's an open secret that at at least half the cash from those envelopes went straight into the pockets of drugs dealers.

Cb behaves as if there was no such thing as a benefits system and her mindset is that pockets of London exist in a different zone where the government does not offer any kind of support.

Why was she giving out wads of cash? It's crazy. It made her look good and it made the recipients love her and depend on her.
