Workplace Accident - WWYD?

Very briefly, had a workplace accident and the GP has given me a restricted duties certificate. Work have ignored this completely (they actually refused to take the certificate) and insisted I carry on with my normal duties, which has been extremely painful and I made silly mistakes as I was in agony. Management would not let me swap to a different role for the entire duration of my shift.

I have now been informed that I might be facing a disciplinary due to these mistakes...

Are you in a union? If not, speak to TGWU and go back to your Dr. Your employer is breaking the law.

Did you fill in the accident book at work, did up they know it had happened t work?

It's not unfair its illegal.
Is the accident recorded in the work accident book? It should be. If they refuse ensure that you put it in writing the details of the accident & the fact that you want it recorded in the work accident book.
I would send it from my personal email to my boss and cc in the health & safety rep, HR & bosses boss. I'd also put in in a letter to all.
Report the company to the local authority H&is dept.
Go back to your Dr & explain the situation & ask him to sign you off work until you are totally recovered.

Use the time to update your CV & start looking for a new job would be my advice - ignoring H&S is not a good sign in my book.

It was put in the accident book immediately, I then did an incident report when i returned to work.

You have good grounds for stopping any disciplinary against you. When you say "you might be" invited to a meeting have you had a letter for an investigatory meeting?

what have the union said? You need to speak to them or contact ACAS for more support
