To throw away glittery shite

The house is full of half finished 'projects', beads, sequins, plaster of Paris pigs, cardboard shite, cutting outs, stickers, kinder surprise crap, grow your own monster etc. etc.

I've seen my arse this evening and binned loads! AIBU to want to live in a home rather than a craft centre?
How can one child make so much craft (mess), the dyson looks like a glitter ball with all the shite it picks up.

How much stuff is worth keeping and how much could I get away with putting in the bin?

Bin it!

Just keep the most aesthetically pleasing pieces!

I always gave mine the opportunity to finish them, in an agreed timescale, which didn't include them fitting in television/gaming.

They nearly always told me that i could bin their 'projects'.

After that, every craft kit my Sister bought, went straight to the charity shop. Mine were more interested in being outdoors.

Take a photo of it then bin it.

Is this what I have to look forward to? I've been adding little bits and pieces to a craft box since DS was tiny so we have plenty for when he finally gets into it all. I'm now thinking that this is perhaps as good as my idea to get him a ball pit with 300 sodding plastic balls for his birthday....

I got sick of this too. I bought a cheap set of shelves and put them up in the downstairs loo. Now all craft projects are proudly displayed there and the rest of the house is glitter free! I cull them now and again too.

We work on a rota basis for display, ds gets to display his work until the next bit comes along, then we ask him whether its a keeper or a chucker.

I hate glitter....i keep finding the bloody stuff from his Christmas art sessions!

I have a craft obsessed toddler and I'm terrible at binning the things she makes, especially when she is so proud and wants them on display. My house is like her own personal art gallery. I can see me being on hoarders in a few years with pipe cleaners sticking out of my hair, tunneling my way through cotton wool snowmen and wooden spoon puppets. BIN THEM! Be ruthless. (Wish I could take my own advice)

I have an app that stores photos of the 'artwork'. They get binned after a few days.

Dd cries if she finds me throwing anything of hers away. I have to smuggle things out in midnight raids.

I keep the special ones. Everything else gets 'tidied' away to the garage. If they are asked for within two weeks they can come back into display/circulation if not they are binned. Seems to work in our house.

I keep "special" things, like clay craft projects made at school in a special box. But I tidy away tat-like stuff into bin bags which I leave in my car for a couple of weeks in case something important is missed. It never is. Then I stop off at the tip.

I give a lot of them away, to grand-parents, uncles and aunties Kids are super proud, and I am sure the family is delighted!

I keep favourite bits on a shelf downstairs, each kid has a shelf in his ownbedroom and the rest is packed away. I "declutter" the boxes every few months, once they have forgotten about them.

I am sure that glitter is alive and evil, it starts as a pinch and expand in your home when you are not looking. How else would it go EVERYWHERE? I even found some in the baby's nappy!
