in thinking that just because you have been on mn for ever

that doesn't make you a bad person.
MN for as long as I have been on here has had a oldie v newbie thing going
who really cares. some people post a lot, some don't.
but if you do post a lot (cos like me you might be stuck in a shite carer role) and you make "friends" with people on mn....you get slated.
all this royalty/oldie stuff is a yawn feast.... but in the 10 years I have been one here.....it still goes on.
isn't it time we all moved on?

Lunch mob could be anew clique we would all gather and discuss our lunches and then welcome new mobbers with sandwiches

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2016 13:40

Good idea MrsJayy. I have just perused the fridge but can't see anything I fancy.

DotForShort · 01/02/2016 13:40

I would definitely join a lunch mob! Smile

Ginslinger · 01/02/2016 13:41

I want to be part of a lunch mob too.

I don't know what the answer is - what was the question again?

MrsJayy · 01/02/2016 13:42

I've been here 8 years, name changed a few times because of various things (shamed off SN board by trolls/outed IRL) last one being Jeffgate. I miss my original name, but there is now someone with a v similar name so can't.

When I first joined MN there was a few regular posters who I recognised, not so much these days. There are a lot more posters now, some days it's not worth reading half the posts as they're all goady and troll like.

bumbleymummy · 01/02/2016 14:01

Just finishing a chocolate chip cookie. :) Yum.

ricketytickety · 01/02/2016 14:02

cheese in last night's chips whilst bf-ing. prob all kinds of wrong

PurpleDaisies · 01/02/2016 14:04

Sweet potato and chili soup with naan bread. It was nice, but needed a big spoonful of chili sauce. Someone must have thrown the chili at it from a great height and missed the bowl.

Now eating chocolate orange left over from the Christmas haul.

ricketytickety · 01/02/2016 14:04

I provide everyone else witth healthy balanced lunch. Then I eat the crap leftoveer in the fridge.

bumbleymummy · 01/02/2016 14:07

I did have soup and a sandwich as well but the cookie was the highlight.

Sounds perfectly alright to me rickety! :)

DrDreReturns · 01/02/2016 14:14

It does make a difference - if someone posts something outlandish MNHQ say 'they've been with us for ages so we're letting it stand.' Otherwise the post / thread would be deleted.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/02/2016 14:15

IDK, I think every now and again we get that oldies/newbies thing, but I think it's misnamed - people notice prolific or controversial posters or ones who they have connections with rather than ones who've just been there a long time. Unless it's listed on someone's profile there's no real way of teling how long someone's been on here, what with name changing and new accounts and all.

Owllady · 01/02/2016 14:23

I've been here for thirteen years too. I posted under a few other names and have been regularly outed in real life. Which is why I use it in a different way to what I used to. That said, I've also been outed under this name (ffs :o) I don't think it's cliquey at all really. I don't know what people are on about, but I am a bit half soaked so might not notice.

I still can't believe June Whitfield is 90

Owllady · 01/02/2016 14:25

I had banana on toast for breakfast :)

Samcro · 01/02/2016 15:17

RTF is interesting....the example given is an off one, usually when someone posts a disablist term they will quite rightly get jumped on. but they will also be defended, or should I say the word will be. so often that is what maked it go on.

ALemonyPea now I need to know who you were lol

bumbleymummy · 01/02/2016 15:32

DrDre, yes, I've seen that before too. I'm not sure why certain posters are given special treatment. Surely the same rules should apply to everyone.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 01/02/2016 15:36

I've been here about 3 years. This is my 3rd name and I'm toying with a new one simply because I've tangled with too many trolls/PBPS (confirmed by HQ ones before anyone says anything) lately.

I've got to know a few people on here, some of them 'oldies' and some newer. I don't care how long someone's been here, I care about the kind of person they are. I know of a serial name changer who's been here for years who's one of the goadiest buggers around. I also know people who've been here a lot less but keep the same name and are lovely.

It is absolutely shitty behaviour to bitch about 'royalty' and 'bullying' and direct it at people who keep their name. I'm tired of seeing the same posters whining on every thread like this that there are 'groups' of posters or 'gangs' who get away with behaviour. I've even had that flung at me. It's bullshit. I've been deleted as much as anyone else. I use the 'report' button as much as anyone else.

Yesterday's thread of multiple PBPs getting together to start on 'regular's' and people being quick to join in with the accusations of bullying and 'regulars' was a perfect example of what I'm talking about. And HQ confirmed on the thread that there were multiple PBPs working together to draw people in to have a go.

Owllady · 01/02/2016 15:48

WhAt does RTF AND PBP mean?

I tend to leave threads where people are getting angsty. I've noticed though that the same subjects gets debated year after year and some of the same posters still post the same thing on them. Do they have a word document to paste from? Because I'm not sure I could be bothered.

PurpleDaisies · 01/02/2016 15:49

Read the full thread and previously banned poster owl.

Owllady · 01/02/2016 15:50

Thank you :o

Samcro · 01/02/2016 16:03

Owllady but how do you know? do you have a spreadsheet ? Wink
