Text a mum friend today who had a 2 DS one the same age as my dd (3) to see if they wanted to pop over for a play. She text me back to say she thought she would go to the playground because 'boys are like dogs and need to run'. I said Dd loves and needs a run around too (true) but it was Raining...she then said I didn't understand because Dd is a girl and she doesn't need it and I don't know how hard it is to have boys only. I am so lucky that DD will so quiet stuff sometimes and I will apparently understand when my DS learns to walk....
Aibu to think she's being a bit silly? Are boys really so different to girls? She is right that my DS is still a baby so perhaps I don't know but as far as I can tell all young children need a good airing....for some reason I'm dwelling on this and not sure why ...

I have three snall children and the boy (4yo) needs a run around the least!

It does really piss me off. My children's male/femaleness are nothing to do with how they behave, it's all about age, developmental stage and what traits are encouraged.

Our dog has two walks a day, and sleeps the rest of the time mostly.

I have two 6 year old DSs. I only WISH they were like the dog.

I have boys and a girl and whilst my daughter loves being outside and running around she's also fine bring home and chilling. My boys are like dogs, they both need to be fed and run daily or they are literally climbing the walls in a way that my girl isn't

I always compare my 2 boys to puppies that need exercising. Not had any girls to know whether they'd be the same.

However, I would say that it speaks volumes about the amount of exercise your respective children need that you didn't want to go to the park because of the rain, whereas for her it was a necessity even if it meant getting wet!

My children all benefit from a spell outside and I will frequently throw them outside. DD1 often wants to just stay inside and read but DD2, who is a real fidget pants (even if she's colouring or reading she'll be constantly moving), and DS will stay outside running around for ages. We have oodles of warm and waterproof clothes and footwear for if the weather is awful (it howls a gale almost constantly where we live). But as I said further up the thread, DS has a physical need to get outside and run around and it's really noticeable when he hasn't done so, whereas it's not nearly so noticeable with the girls.
