A couple of hours ago my throat started getting really dry no matter how many drinks I had it has now got to the point where I am having difficulty swallowing. I can talk but it feels like someone is squeezing my throat, my arms and leg muscles are also really aching and heavy. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid a couple of days ago and started taking tablets for it. I am a healthy weight 128 pounds and 5" 9, really don't know what to do.

Please make sure someone is with you OP. Take some antihistamines if you have some, in case it is an allergic reaction. I really would urge you to call 111 - a doctor calling back after 2pm could mean 6pm.

tinyterrors · 25/01/2016 12:59

Please phone 111 now op or get your parents to. Your symptoms are rapidly getting worse you can't wait until after 2pm, as pp have said it could be 6pm before the gp phones you.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 25/01/2016 12:59

Please don't wait until 2, they might not call you until much later.

Flu vaccine doesn't cover all strains (it's at best a best guess of which of the worst strains might be around).

GloGirl · 25/01/2016 15:49

Are you ok?

Lemonski · 25/01/2016 16:02

I have a thyroid condition and get the throat squeeze sensation alot. Especially at the moment as Im not on an even keel with it all.

I suspect that is part f your problme but you need someone to urgently take a look at you. Any throat restriction should be taken seriously and along with your other symptoms you cannot afford to mess around.

I hope the Dr decides you need to be seen when they call.

Please let us know how you get on. I hope you're ok and its something easily solved.

ELLNEW1698 · 25/01/2016 16:58

Have been to the doctors they said my throat is quite inflamed and is causing obstruction and difficulty breathing and swallowing they have given me a spray which will numb it, so hopefully it should be better soon. I haven't eaten all day and am feeling quite faint.

Could you manage some smooth soup, mashed banana, milk drink e.g hottish chocolate, milky coffee, that sort of thing? To keep your strength up? Again, is anyone there to help you; are your parents still with you? Really hope you get better soon. Flowers

Binders1 · 25/01/2016 17:06

Glad to see you've seen the doctor. Hopefully the spray will help and you feel better soon.

Lemonski · 25/01/2016 17:39
