I have a sick child (loaded with the cold and an ear infection) and Fireman Sam is cheering him up but driving me completely bonkers

I question why Norman Price hasn't come to the attention of social services yet and if Dilys will be first on David Cameron new parenting classes. The twins never have a coat on even in the snow, slack of Bronwyn1. Also if I was Elvis Cridlington's line manager I would have performance managed him out of the role by now.

I'm so institutionalised by it these days that I occasionally find Dilys funny. Saw an episode today where she called a dream catcher a dream scratcher. Snort.

God my two year old expressed a wish to go on holiday with fireman Sam this morning. He then changed his mind as Norman would make it dangerous. Fireman Sam is definitely Norman's dad, elvis and penny are always at it while radar watches and no one wants a bloody fishy nibble.

Norman Price is a sociopath in the making. Little fecker. And one particular series/edition made the twins voices so shrill they make your ears want to wither up and drop off.

The toys are really annoying. I was going to buy ds something as a treat and was really excited about it as he would be beyond himself with happiness, but all the stuff in the shops was absolute plastic crap - I don't mind shit like that free with a magazine but no way would I pay money for it. Surely it's a missed opportunity, is anyone in their right mind buying that stuff?

We seem to have a growing collection of it. I blame it being in the ssinsbury toy event.

Has anybody seen the one where miss chen gets norman to watch lily and then she goes missing. Who on earth would leave their toddler unsupervised at the beach with a child. Really annoys me that episode. She is always saying norman take lily Watch your own child woman!

I'm so glad that DS1 has bored himself out of the Fireman Sam phase and DS2 hasn't taken it up.

I bought videos of the original series which were fine until DS1 discovered the cheapo rubbish new versions.

The toys are awful quality compared to spin offs like Thomas. Even in the height of his obsession, DS1 never bothered with the dull shell of the fire station that a relative bought as a present.

I've had 5 fucking straight years of it. Its on right this second. I found a new episode the other day and almost cried from happiness as I can recite all the other's pretty much word for word. It was so exhilarating to watch something different

Ds watches it on the iPad sometimes and they're usually the original ones which are so much better. The voices are normal, for a start.

He's also found a weird BBC acted version from 1996 which he loves but it's quite strange.

Also the US version pops up a lot, it's a blessed relief compared to the modern UK version.

Argh my 2 year old dd loves fireman Sam. She also has the toy fire engine and also gets really frustrated that Sam doesn't fit in it! She replaced him with a smaller toy tiger in the end.

Fireman Sam drives me mad. He is so full of himself and condescending.

I try and steer my dd towards Thomas or Ben and holly at the moment!

Oh and thanks to fireman Sam we have endless games of "rescue mummy from the rocks" where I have to lie across a chair and wait for dd to come and either poke me with a toy or wrap shoelaces around me. Sigh.

When Ds1 was 3 I was asked which part of Wales we were from as they couldn't place his accent - we live in Kent and have never been to Wales

In my defence, I used to put it on so I could feed Ds2 in peace, in fact, I used to leak milk for ages afterwards as soon as I heard the Fireman Sam theme tune.

Does anyone else get annoyed by the part in the song "the safest place I know". No its bloody not, unless your a time traveller and the only other place you have experience of is a zombie infested apocalyptic wasteland, pontpandy is not remotely safe. The amount of life threatening situations each and every resident has experienced is ridiculously high. You would be safer living on brookside close.
