To wear split knee black jeans and a leather biker jacket at 53?

I'm meeting people I haven't seen in a long while so tried on some new clobber. Dd said I looked fine, but I can't get over the fact I'm 53. Mutton and lamb spring to mind.

To give you something to go on,I'm 5ft 7 and a size 6 to 8 with hair just past my shoulders.

You don't have to be kind, just tell me what you think!

Flo well it's not always because of age. That's all I'm saying. Age isn't the defining thing about women. It's not a case of "past it" or not.

I completely agree age shouldn't define women, TheHouse. Sadly, I think this thread illustrates how a lot of people think it does.

No-one on here knows what the op looks like but because she's over 50, some people think they can tell without even looking what will or won't suit her. My argument is with them, not with you.

If Carole Radziwill can wear mini dresses with over the knee socks at 52 and still look amazing, the average Jo(anna) can do leather jacket and skinny jeans.

To be honest I don't like ripped jeans and think they look awful...

I also have to say agree with another poster re looks like you're wearing your DDs clothes...

That's not to say I'd never wear them (certainly not never wear the biker jacket!) but meeting friends after you've not seen for ages I'd go smarter, more conservative (check out Oasis for nicer quirkier coats etc). Then if you see them again you can wear the biker jacket!
