....to symptom spot in the 'two week wait'?

I know a lot of us get into symptom spotting before our period is due. I was wondering whether those who have been pregnant actually think they had signs before their period was late or if it can be confirmed as nonsense that you can feel any changes that early?

Thanks love Grin

I TTC'd frantically for 2 years for DD4. Symptom spotted, charted ect. Every month i would get something to get twitchy about - sometimes sore boobs, sometimes tired, sometimes spotting, sometimes cramps, this, that, the other.

The month i fell pregnant we were in the middle of a house move, way too busy to really symptom spot and guess what? Grin Didn't even bother to test until period was 2 weeks late!

With DD1, I had no idea until I was nearly 15 weeks.

Second two, my 'sign' was very sensitive gums. Nipples a bit weird, but it was mainly the gums for me!

Second two?

Ignore that.

The 2ww is so hard, I've constantly been symptom spotting, AF due on Sunday so trying to hold off till then to test but it's really hard not to do a wee POAS now Smile

Horrible insomnia. I would know next time at 3am.

I had implantation bleeding 4 days before bfp and felt slightly dizzy and lightheaded and had lower back ache. I passed it off as residual hangover into I felt dizzy, then I began to wonder.

BumpTheElephant · 20/01/2016 05:45

The first time about 4 days before my period was due I was out with DH and I suddenly felt really hungry and dizzy like I was about to faint. We went to a restaurant and ordered something I'd never normally order, ate a few fork fulls and felt really sick and full. I was so embarrassed.
The next day I woke up and my boobs were really sore, I was also exhausted and felt nauseous. We weren't trying for a baby but I began to wonder if I was pregnant so bought a pregnancy test and got a faint positive. I went to have HG and felt horrific until about 20weeks.

Second pregnancy we were trying and the only symptom was a lack of symptoms. I didn't have any of my usual pms symptoms . I did get a positive test at 10dpo (I was testing everyday with some amazon cheapies) but not really any pregnancy symptoms until about 6 weeks pregnant.

BumpTheElephant · 20/01/2016 05:47

That should be went on to have HG.

Thefitfatty · 20/01/2016 05:53

I didn't know but my cat did. With both pregnancies she started sleeping on my stomach before my period was do. She had never done that before, and once the babies were born she stopped. She also went nuts on the days my contractions started. She was a very sensitive cat.

WeeseKeysAreThese · 20/01/2016 08:23

The only symptoms I had both times were heightened send of smell and cramping from about 3dpo. I didn't realise the first time until my period find turn up but the second time I knew without doing a test.

ShesGotLionsInHerHeart · 20/01/2016 08:36

I knew because I woke up in the morning, and just felt another presence in the room with me. We had been trying for 12 days!

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/01/2016 10:12

I try not to fall into the symptom spotting trap. It always makes me chuckle when others talk about 'symptoms', I get them all pre af, (or some months nothing at all), nausea, dizziness, sore boobs, no sore boobs, 'tugging' in uterus, aversion to foods and smells, metallic taste in mouth (probably something to do with my fillings and crown!)..... Each month I literally get a combination of these, or nothing at all.....still not preggo!!!

doesn't stop me wondering though....

Mothersruin75 · 20/01/2016 10:37

It's so hard not to symptom spot. It took us three years and five ivfs to conceive DTs (secondary infertility). I've spent hours & hours symptom spotting!

The only thing that was different for me was a metallic taste in my mouth. The pains and niggles are the same pregnant or not, just seem so much worse when you're thinking about every twinge.

We had to go into London for a blood test to find out if the last Ivf had worked, I'd had this funny taste in my mouth for a few days before that I remembered from DD1. I was secretly convinced that it had worked this time and it had.

When I got the same taste again just over a year later for surprise DC4, I knew straight away (but stuck my head in the sand for a couple of weeks).

woodwaj · 20/01/2016 10:55

I got a metallic taste in my mouth about a week before AF was due. It was a very obvious taste but just happened the once. But like others also had symptoms the months I didn't get pregnant!

honkinghaddock · 20/01/2016 11:10

I felt pregnant a couple of days before I was due to test for my 2nd pregnancy and tested a day early because of this. I also had morning sickness a couple of days later. This was a twin pregnancy at that point so the hormones would have been stronger. On my next and final ivf with our frozen embryos, I didn't feel pregnant and wasn't.
