He has dementia so totally not his fault and I'm not angry with him, but he kept saying I was fucking ugly and looked like a man and was a fat bitch. Don't get me wrong I'm not angry with him personally as I know he didn't know what he was saying and his wife was really apologetic and said he'd never even have sworn in front of a woman once, so I just feel very sad for him. But I also know he was saying what he thought was true and that hurts that I look like that to people.

My dad has dementia - lewy body and vascular. He is verbally aggressive and awful a lot of the time. He calls my mum all kinds of things and has called me a retard. He used to be the kindest, most courteous man you can imagine. It is the disease talking to you, OP. Try to understand.

MIL told DH she couldn't walk to church wearing this swimming costume. She was dressed in a skirt and cardigan and safely sitting in her care home going nowhere as can no longer walk.

OP, you are doing an amazing job that most people wouldn't even consider. He would be absolutely mortified if he knew what he was saying, please hold onto that.

We don't know or care what you look like from the outside but it's clear from your post that you have a very lovely heart.
