To be annoyed but not know what to say?

Friends A, B and I are meeting for a few days this weekend. Friend A has just emailed to say she has been given work in another branch of the store she works at and doesn't really want to turn it down as she's skint right now. This means she probably can't make our long-planned weekend at all. She is asking me for advice. I think she wants me to say there there it's all ok, I'm a soft touch We don't see each other that often anyway; what should I say? Im disappointed to be honest.

'That's a shame, but if you need to work you need to work. Don't worry about it, we can sort something out for another time.'

Is it going to cost you and friend B more if she doesn't come? If so I would be very annoyed but if not and she is broke I would be disappointed at not seeing her but understand why. January can be a tight month for many people and if she needs the money she would be silly to turn down work, it may not be offered again.

Yabu, work has to come first. Some managers may not look kindly on her turning down extra shifts, and either mess her around with her normal hours or not offer her extras in the future and it sounds like she needs the money.
