AlisonWunderland · 17/01/2016 00:47

Fruit and veg shops
Love the smell of coffee, hate the taste!
Laundry dried outdoors

PaulAnkaTheDog · 17/01/2016 01:26

As salmotrutta in our household the tevhnical name for that is 'The Smell of Germany'. Grin

PaulAnkaTheDog · 17/01/2016 01:27

MardyBra your name is apt.

TheCrimsonPleb · 17/01/2016 01:30

Napthane. I do like that smell.

Baconyum · 17/01/2016 01:34

Creosote
Acetone and cut grass

wtfisgoingonhere · 17/01/2016 01:43

Love the smell of my cats (paws, ears, bellys! Blush)
Also love the smell of freshly baked bread, cakes just out the oven, rotisserie chicken (have to try not to drool in sainsburys) toast, petrol, deep heat, matches, Johnson talc, grilled cheese, oranges, coffee (though cannot stand even the slightest taste of itConfused) and rain

Cannot bear the smell of lavender, fag smoke, pollen/cut grass (think that's inherently linked to my hayfever), bleach, antiperspirant spray (it's not the smell as such but it catches in my throat - roll on for me)

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 17/01/2016 01:46

Petrichor - the smell of warm, damp Tarmac

hefzi · 17/01/2016 02:15

For me, it's the way khaki smells when the sun's beating down on it and the smell inside a small, rural C of E church (big churches, town churches and Orthodox/Catholic churches smell differently Smile) - probably a mixture of dust, damp, spray Pledge, and sanctity or something!

hefzi · 17/01/2016 02:16

Also love the smell just before it rains (is that ozone, maybe?) and citrus blossom of any kind (the real ones, not in perfume) - now I am having scent nostalgia!

Does anyone else find that when they smell particular perfumes they used to wear, they get an instant memory of the time they favoured it?

AcrossthePond55 · 17/01/2016 02:23

Wet Juniper and Eucalyptus. There's a road we travel to the beach that has an area with these two. When it's foggy or has rained it smells heavenly.

Also, the smell inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland (CA, not Paris)

steff13 · 17/01/2016 02:25

My dog's toes smell like Fritos. I like it, but it kind of puts me off Fritos.

I love the smell of tomato plants, play doh, Gain laundry detergent, white glue, icy hot, pipe tobacco, tea tree oil.

Dollymixtureyumyum · 17/01/2016 06:46

Vosene shampoo. I must get some Grin

Dollymixtureyumyum · 17/01/2016 06:47

Books.

Lavender.

My daughters hair, especially after she has been out in the sun.

The smell of a pub cellar first thing in the morning.

phlebasconsidered · 17/01/2016 07:02

My dog's paws smell of popcorn. They're lovely!
Sponges and flannels.
Coal tar soap.
Airing cupboards.
Whiteboard pens.
Rosemary.
The back of my kids necks.
Wet dog.
Gravy.
Dettol.
Hawthorn in bloom.
Hay.
Yeast.

solidarityplease · 17/01/2016 07:14

My 2.5 year old's morning breath Blush
It's not horrendously smelly or anything, I just love it. Something very comforting about it.

Also love his slightly sweaty middle of the night smell.

I think I need to stop smelling my child...

timelytess · 17/01/2016 07:14

Dettol.

Janeymoo50 · 17/01/2016 09:35

Yep, cheesy wotsits are what my cat's comedy sized paws smell of. I love the smell of germolene cream (the old stuff), Imperial Leather soap, bread and butter pudding cooking (and a roasting chicken), peanut butter and Jasmine.

NoahVale · 17/01/2016 09:42

tomato plants
black current plants
bleach
coal fires
cut grass
sharpies
Vics

blueshoes · 17/01/2016 09:57

Freshly brewed coffee
Scent of honeysuckle in full bloom
Other flowers like lilies, roses, lavender, magnolia
BBQ

AgentCooper · 17/01/2016 10:07

Petrol, cold, damp stone (like basements), permanent markers. When I was anaemic I just wanted to eat the lot of them!

Coal fires, that 'hot' smell when you get off the plane in Spain or Italy, Greggs, jasmine, chlorine, Catholic chapel incense.

HermioneJeanGranger · 17/01/2016 10:07

My cat smells like whatever you've been cooking! I always know when DP has made bacon sarnies without me because the cat's head smells of cooking bacon! Grin

Bungleboggs · 17/01/2016 11:42

Pledge mmmm

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 17/01/2016 11:49

Biscuity cat paws
Old books
New books
That 'outside' smell when someone comes in at night from outside when you're all cosy inside (not explained very well!)
Coal/wood fires
Cresote (could be found sniffing old fences when young Blush)
Behind DH's ears - must be a pheromone thing, I do like a good sniff of him.
