To think there should be a fast lane in coffee shops?

I am boring have simple requirements in the morning. I go to the same coffee shop beside my office and get the same order (cappuchino and croissant). I even sometimes have the exact change in my hand. All I want is to get my coffee and get to my desk.

Every morning this week there have been people who couldn't make up their mind, or wanted the staff to make something out of the ordinary. This morning we had "do you do cheese sandwiches, oh, you have sandwiches over there, let me look at them while the people with me are changing their minds 6 times about what scone to have, oh, can you not just make a plain cheese sandwich" Angry

First of all, who on earth wants a cheese sandwich at 9am, and second of all aaaarrrgghh Angry

So. Fast lane for people who don't faff? I may be U as I haven't finished my coffee yet

YANBU. Its everywhere. The post office, the supermarket (Waitrose is the worst)...ATMs are torture. Don't kill yourself to get in front of me then spend 10 minutes looking for your 17 cards so that you can check the balance on each.

There should be specific lanes for people who want to faff around and others for those of us who want to hurry the fuck up

Yes, Vanderwaals, if you are in a small town without much other option, I can see that it makes sense. But in a major city centre with a Tesco across the road and a sandwich shop next door, they choose the small pastry and coffee shop to look for sandwiches??! Angry

(I think maybe I need to reduce my caffeine intake if this is still bothering me)

I'm so there with "It's the faffers I tell you" t-shirts. Grin

You shouldn't be allowed to enter a queue unless you're in a position to complete the transaction. You don't go to a till in a supermarket and then start deciding what you want do you. It should be law GrinGrinGrin

maisymoo you're no to something. Little cards with tick boxes with your choices and may be a mobile app that wil tranfer your order. When you reach the till you getapp scaned or pass over card, if they aren't comlete then you're sent to the back of the line.

Drifting gently away from the point, but my pet peeve (which may be Costa specific - it's our coffee shop of choice) is when the person taking the order asks "do you want sprinkles" for the cappuccino and "do you want milk" for the Americano.

Why ???????????????????

Because there is no system for transferring this information on to the person making the drinks. Meaning, a few moments later you get asked again "Do you want ..."

May be trivial enough, until you go to a Costa where it's impossible to wait by the machine and have to go and sit down while they "bring it over".

MrsLH went through a spell of not wanting sprinkles - which I told the cashier. So when they bought it over with sprinkles it was sent back.

Given this happened several times in the same shop, I suspect a lot of Costas prices are due to overheads .....
