Sausage Salad?

Okay, so this is more of an 'Am I being Weird?'

Had saisages for tea so I've cooked a few extra for lunch tomorrow. I just chopped one up to add to a salad for my lunch. DP came in halfway through and looked at my lunch like it was the food of the devil!

Is it really that weird to put sausages in a salad?!

For clarity my lunch is a pre-packed rainbow salad with sausage pieces and cottage cheese - I can't wait to eat it!

As a child we sometimes had Russian salad for lunch, it was cold sausages sliced up and mixed into potato or vegetable salad, served with thinly sliced beetroot and a cucumber salad.

Delicious and an enduring "taste of childhood summers" for me. Smile

We don't often have sausages, but when we do, we have them as salad rather than with mash or as toad in the hole.

That was my lunch today! Was delish. I made salad in a jar and took the sausages separate. No one looked strangely at me... Well no stranger than usual Hmm

Had it for Sunday lunch yesterday. Warm sausages though, big fat herby ones with a leafy salad with lots of cucumber/tomato/peppers and fresh roast potatoes [hot] on the side. Yum. We tend to eat it in the summer mostly but for some reason that's what we had lots of in the fridge.

Sausage salad sounds great.

Non mainstream food often is the best.
