Walking to work, passed man walking dog on our street who let dog do massive poo and just walked off. It's a horrible and way too common problem round here. I said, 'excuse me, could you pick up after your dog please?' and get the (shouted) reply 'I've run out of bags and anyway you can FUCK OFF. Have you got a bag? No? JUST FUCK OFF THEN.'

AIBU to be a bit taken aback by the reaction?!! Lovely start to the day...

I did once run out of bags on a walk. I use nappy sacks and the blinking things had dropped out of my pocket at some point. I was in a very remote area but luckily there were plenty of big leaves about. I'll admit, I didn't take the poo back to the car but did manage to move it so no-one was likely to walk in it.

If someone had confronted me, I'd have explained what had happened and said sorry.

My village is slowly getting covered in shit and it's really gross. I see so many people making no attempt to move their dog's shit. It's really bloody gross.

Tell you what's also bad. I took my toddler DS out to a play park in our village. Someone had bagged up 3 or 4 bags of dog mess and left them lined up on the fence around the children's playpark. Seriously they couldn't take them to the bin round the corner but had to leave them in a kids play area

It was a good thing we didn't see them because the red mist came down. My husband went back to our house got gloves and bag and tidied them up.

One of my biggest hates is when dog owners pretend to not see or just ignore their dog crapping on a path.

I fucking hate this! I understand that sometimes you forget to take bags with you ect but we have a massive green opposite our house which would be great for the kids to play football or whatever on if it wasnt for all the dog shit People actually walk their dogs on it to shit, even if the kids are playing on it ffs If you can't pick up after your dog, either let it shit in your own garden or don't bloody have one.

It simply can't be one dog shitting over every street and every patch of grass in the country. It has to be many many thousands of dog owners who - don't give a shit - or rather believe it's their right to shit over their community.

I would like to see them caught and punished.

We own two dogs and are meticulous about picking up after them. Dog owners who just don't bother really get to me - they give us all a bad name. A pp mentioned that the poo-on-pavement problem seems to get worse in the winter, and I absolutely agree. And dog owners who pretend not to see when their dog does its business really get to me. I was walking in a big London park with my son just before Christmas and two women walking in front of us were doing that thing where they walk and talk and pretend to be too absorbed in conversation to notice what their dogs are doing. One of the dogs did a massive poo just as I was walking past it, right next to the path. I yelled after the women that "one of your dogs just did a poo!" (my poor son was mortified!). They did stomp back to pick it up, but not without muttering passive-aggressively about the "poo police." Really???

Some dirty frigger left a huge poo just outside our house the other day, I warned the DCs to avoid it.

I went to put our bin out yesterday and there was another new one just where I'd normally put our bin, birth by a lamppost which has a warning sign about the £1000 fine for dog fouling.

I'm off sick at home at the moment but I had to clean them both up and bleach the pavement - nice!

See that's the thing. If it was outside their house or their dc stepped in a big pile of it, I bet they'd go bloody nuts!

Round here people seem to go out at night to let their dogs shit under cover of darkness. But the thing that really baffles me is when people pick up and bag it... then hang it from the trees!!!

Update : walk back home. Offending poo is still in situ and some poor fecker has trod through it.

Becoming thoroughly fed up with the man who let his dog use my front path as its own personal toilet, one morning I picked up the offending mess on a shovel, followed him home and tossed it at his front door while he was opening it. It landed on his feet and his hall carpet. He wasn't pleased but was too busy shaking shit off his feet to chase after me and I had a large shovel in my hands.
I never saw him again.

I absolutely hate it when people let their dogs crap on the street but well done for having a go. Be rest assured he went about his day dragging his knuckles along the ground and hopefully through some other dog's shit with any luck.

Why do people hang bags of dog shit on trees? I often see this where I walk in local woods. I would far rather they left the poo to biodegrade in the rain, than hang a plastic bag of it on a tree.

Because they like having a dog dementedma but not the responsibility of actually cleaning up after it! that and they are lazy fucking twats

But sunny they go to the trouble of bagging the poo - which makes me retch at the thought of it so I don't have a dog - but then hang the bag on a tree or shrub. Just leave the bloody poo at the side of the path rather than hang it up encased in plastic. At least it will wash away on the ground!
